Penajam, April 18, 2022 - Crude oil is one of the main raw materials in the fuel oil processing industry. Therefore, to control the water content of each crude oil reception, Pertamina, through PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Balikpapan Unit, operates an Automatic Inline Sampler at the Lawe-Lawe Terminal. The initial operation was carried out by the General Manager of the KPI Balikpapan Unit, Wahyu Sulistyo Wibowo (Tuesday, 12/04).
"The utilization of the Automatic Inline Sampler aims to systematically control and monitor the water content of crude oil received by Pertamina," Wahyu said.
Wahyu explained that the Automatic Inline Sampler is a crude oil sampling tool carried out automatically to control crude oil quality based on the Water Content parameter.
The placement of this tool in the Lawe-Lawe terminal is for a reason. The Lawe-Lawe Terminal is the main facility for receiving crude oil before it is sent to the refinery in Balikpapan for processing.
Wahyu expressed his hope that the equipment can be used as much as possible to support the company's operations. "I hope this tool can be maintained and used as much as possible to monitor the water content more strictly during the process of receiving crude oil from ships," said Wahyu.
The inaugural operation of the Automatic Inline Sampler was followed by a Ramadhan Safari, attended by workers, partners, and children of the Annaja Orphanage. On that occasion, assistance was distributed from workers' donations to 32 children of the Annaja Orphanage. It is a participation in financial assistance for the Raudatul Jannah Girimukti Mosque construction and to make a parking lot for SDN 013 Penajam.
"Hopefully, this assistance will be useful for those who receive it and be a blessing for us," Wahyu stated.**
