Intensive Fire Fighting, Pertamina Successfully Extinguished All Fire Spots

Jakarta, March 31, 2021 – Firefighting efforts by Pertamina emergency team has successfully extinguished all fire spots in the Tank-301 at 2.35 pm today.

"All fire spots have been extinguished due to the teamwork and assistance of several parties," said Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto.

Agus said that the emergency team had successfully extinguished the T-301H at 01.30 WIB, followed by T-301E at 06.44 am, and the T-301G tank at 08.30 am.

To ensure all affected tanks' conditions, PT Pertamina (Persero) continues the process of cooling down and observing until all area safely confirmed. The preparations to restart the refinery operations will begin once it has been determined that there is no risk of fire recurrence.

"We would like to thank all the support coming from all parties and community during the incident. After a comprehensive inspection being settled, the Balongan Refinery could soon restart the operation," Agus concluded.
