Lombok, September 27, 2024 – A different atmosphere was felt at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport in Lombok on Friday (09/27). Usually, this airport is filled with domestic tourists, but now international travelers crowd the arrival terminal. Foreign tourists have started to arrive in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, to attend and watch the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024.
Two tourists from Japan, Aoi Yanase and Maine Hoppo, shared their experiences of arriving in Lombok for the first time to watch a MotoGP outside their home country. They expressed excitement, especially Aoi, a Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team fan. Since landing at Lombok Airport, he proudly showcased his love for his favorite team by wearing the official jersey of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team.
"I am a huge fan of one of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team riders, Fabio Di Giannantonio. I am so happy and cannot wait to see his performance live at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 in Mandalika," Aoi said.
Another foreign tourist, Rika from Darwin, Australia, who came with her husband, expressed a similar sentiment. She specifically came to Lombok to watch the international motorcycle racing event. She shared her enthusiasm for this prestigious event.
"I came specifically to see the MotoGP event in Indonesia because I am a fan. I feel that the event in Mandalika has a different vibe, combining watching MotoGP and vacationing. I also had a chance to take photos at the Pertamina activation photo spot, which was nice and cool," Rika said.
Rika’s experience enjoying the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 excitement since the arrival terminal at Lombok Airport was shared by other tourists as well. International visitors arriving at this airport were greeted with the vibrant atmosphere of Pertamina's activation, featuring a photo spot and an official merchandise booth.
Upon exiting the plane and before heading to the baggage claim and leaving the airport, visitors were welcomed by the activation of Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia and their favorite team supported by Pertamina, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team.
Seeing the exciting and appealing displays, visitors could not resist taking photos and trying out the Prototype Motorcycle of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. They also could take a picture with life-sized images of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team’s star riders, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi.
Visitors were further amazed by the characteristic motifs of Mandalika Circuit, specifically the ikat woven patterns of the Sasak Tribe, displayed in the run-off area of the circuit and on the asphalt outside turns 15 and 16, which were showcased in one of the arrival areas at Lombok Praya.
Near the airport terminal exit, Pertamina also set up an Official Booth offering several quality Pertamina products, such as jerseys, T-shirts, hats, jackets, and lanyards. Visitors could also enjoy various promotions and exciting giveaways at this booth.
