Jakarta, April 10, 2023 - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) is ready to oversee and maintain the smooth fuel oil and LPG distribution during Ramadan until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
PIS has formed a task force including dozens of PIS' perwira and pertiwi officers and preparing hundreds of ships to ensure a smooth national energy supply.
"PIS is committed to maintaining the fuel supply security with sustainable operations. PIS officers and staffs are ready to carry out their duties throughout Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr. PIS also ensures it prioritizes the perwira and pertiwi officers' security and safety in the task force," said Corporate Secretary of PIS, Muh. Aryomekka Firdaus, Thursday (6/4).
272 PIS ships are operated to ensure smooth domestic energy distribution, and 24 international ships for supplies from abroad. From the 272 domestic ships, 173 were for transporting fuel products, 39 for gas, 27 for crude oil, and the rest for avtur, naphtha, asphalt, and others.
PIS also ensures regular monitoring of fuel and LPG distribution. It includes monitoring stock conditions in all depots, DOT, coverage days, as well as position and condition of ships, and coordinating with related parties to mitigate and anticipate a surge in demand at a terminal.
Regarding ship readiness, monitoring is carried out digitally with applications and technology that PIS has to detect situation developments and anticipate emergency conditions and other risks that are monitored in one digital dashboard, namely Digital Fleet Workspace (DIGIFORCE).
As an anticipatory measure, PIS is also preparing additional ships in anticipation of an increase in the need for stock security during the task force period if needed.
Coordination also continues to be carried out centrally at the Pertamina Task Force Post and independently with relevant government agencies starting from port officers, customs, and other permits so that ship operations remain smooth.**
