Living up the Spirit of Nationalism, Pertamina Spends IDR 839 billion to help with the mitigation of COVID-19

Jakarta, August 17, 2020 – As a dedication for the nation, Pertamina Group supports and contributes to the mitigation effort of the COVID-19 outbreak with a total value of IDR 839 billion. The funds are spread for medical devices, personal protective equipment for COVID-19 referral hospitals, medical facilities, to extra food for the public. 

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, explained that IDR 231 Billion is dedicated to 124 hospitals, 112 public health centers (Puskesmas), and 82 integrated services post (Posyandu) through the synergy of Pertamina Group throughout Indonesia. 

“569,743 masks and 7536 liters of hand sanitizers are provided for Integrated Services Post (Posyandu), Public Health Center (Puskesmas), hospitals, gas station (SPBU) customers, tank truck crews (AMT), government agencies and citizens. 221,926 personal protective equipment (PPE coverall suits) are provided for medical workers across various hospitals and Puskesmas, as well as government agencies. While 6,433 points of locations such as places of worship, schools, gas stations, and other public facilities are sprayed with disinfectant, and 102,920 pairs of gloves are provided for medical workers and tank truck crews,” said Fajriyah. 

Fajriyah added, Rp 130 billion is dedicated to facility renovations, medical equipment across COVID-19 referral hospitals and operational equipment, including 315 units of ventilators and 142,908 ready-to-eat food packages or basic food for medical workers, journalists, informal workers, and marginal groups. 

“Pertamina’s contribution to the nations is also realized in the form of hospital constructions. Pertamina Center Hospital (RSPP) extension for COVID-19 in Simprug, is built under the expense of IDR 186 billion. Medical equipment is also provided with the value of IDR 146 billion, equipped with 30 ICU beds, 20 IGD beds, 240-250 non-ICU beds, and 282 doctors, 660 nurses and 321 support workers,” stated Fajriyah. 

Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) is also transformed into COVID-19 hospital, with 90 beds in the modular hospital, equipped with 2-way interactive CCTV in each room. 

Fifty-two rooms in Patrajasa Hotel are transformed into rooms for medical workers to rest and relax. Covid test laboratory is built as well, equipped with Cobas machine, Magnapure & Lightcycler machines that can quickly detect samples accurately, with daily capacity reaches up to 1,400 samples. 

“All rooms have negative pressure, exhaust fan with hepa and bibo filters designed for the virus, 120 ventilators, and other media equipment, as well as two media robots (Amy and Temi) which are operated to give services to patients and lessen the number of direct interactions between medical workers and patients,” concluded Fajriyah.**
