Semarang, April 16, 2024 - Following the peak of the homecoming flow and the end of the collective leave for Eid al-Fitr holiday set by the government from April 8 to 15, 2024, Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Region noted that the Gasoline fuel consumption in Central Java and Yogyakarta during that period was highest during the peak of the homecoming flow on April 9, 2024, amounting to 21,533 kiloliters (KL/day).
This consumption figure is higher by approximately +68% from the average daily consumption in Central Java and Yogyakarta, which is 12,824 KL/day. However, during the peak of the return traffic, the consumption of Gasoline did not surpass that of the homecoming, remaining at 18,955 KL/day on April 13, 2024, or D+3 of Eid, representing an increase of approximately +48% from the average daily consumption.
According to the homecoming and return flows records, there is an interesting consumption phenomenon, specifically the difference in days between the consumption spike at petrol stations along the Trans-Java Toll Road and the overall consumption spike in Central Java provinces and DIY. It was conveyed by the Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Region, Brasto Galih Nugroho, in his press statement on Tuesday (16/4).
"The increase in consumption during the peak of the homecoming flow on toll roads occurred on D-2 of Eid (8/4), while in the regions of Central Java and Yogyakarta, the consumption peaked on D-1 (9/4). Then, during the peak of the return flow, the consumption in Central Java and Yogyakarta peaked on D+3 (13/4), whereas the consumption peak at toll roads occurred on the Trans-Java toll road on D+4 (14/4)," Brasto explained.
In contrast to the trend of Gasoline consumption for the homecoming and return flows, the trend of avtur consumption for flights at airports in Central Java and Yogyakarta occurred on D-5 of Eid (5/4), increasing by up to +120% from the daily average consumption. For return flow, it peaked on D+5 of Eid (15/4) increasing by +48%, with the highest consumption at Yogyakarta International Airport, Kulonprogo.
During the homecoming and return flows of Eid 2024, Brasto revealed that Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Region provided additional fuel-filling services on toll roads using motorcycles, serving 52 consumers.
"Eight out of 52 consumers who utilize our motorcycle service are located at tourist route points, while the rest are dominated by rest areas along the Trans-Java toll road, dominated by purchases of Pertamax at the KM 456A Salatiga rest area," Brasto explained.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Region appreciates all parties synergizing during SATGAS RAFI 2024, including Provincial, City, and Local Governments, as well as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, conveyed that the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force (SATGAS RAFI) 2024 will remain active until April 21. "Although the peak of the return flow has passed, Pertamina Patra Niaga remains vigilant until the end of the task force on April 21 to monitor the fuel, LPG, and avtur needs in the field until the end of the return flow," Irto explained.
