Denpasar, November 29, 2023 – PT Pertamina Bina Medika – Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Hospital Holding and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), continues to monitor the construction of Bali International Hospital (BIH) located in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) for Health in Sanur, Bali, set to launch in Q3 2024.
The Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, stated they would support the readiness of the BIH opening, including potential markets, medical human resources, Diaspora professionals currently working abroad, and the business model.
"The target segment for Bali International Hospital is Indonesian citizens who seek medical treatment abroad, allowing IHC to determine and identify the potential market locally," he explained during his visit to BIH on November 28, 2023.
Second, Minister of Health Budi continued, saying the second focus is the readiness of medical personnel, including Diaspora doctors, where medical professionals working abroad can be asked to return back to Indonesia.
The third focus is the hospital's business model. "The Ministry of Health wants hospitals like Bali International Hospital to increase in number so Indonesians do not have to go abroad for medical treatment but can receive it in Indonesia," he explained further.
Director General of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, drg. Mira Dyah Wahyuni, MARS, added that the Bali International Hospital value proposition includes the quality of clinical care, timeliness of care to provide services with minimal waiting time, and convenience of care, offering ease of access for patients, with Bali being a renowned tourist destination both nationally and internationally.
"BIH is planned to complete construction in April 2024, followed by the commissioning process and service simulation for patient safety and comfort. The estimated grand opening is in August - Q3 2024," the Director General of IHC explained.
Director of IHC drg. Mira continued regarding the medical equipment at BIH to support excellence with advanced technology, including Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastro, and Orthopedic abbreviated CONGO has been prepared, including MRI, CT Scan, Cath Lab, PET CT, SPEC CT as well as Endoscopy Facilities which will help with screening for colorectal cancer.
"We will also prepare the most comprehensive Full Option True Beam LINAC in Indonesia, Brachytherapy, Mammography, Digital X-Ray, and Fluoroscopy. These will arrive in December 2023, with commissioning in January 2024, making them ready in April 2024," she revealed.
Regarding human resources, she continued, IHC is committed to enhancing the competence of medical professionals, including doctors and nurses.
Separately, VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, expressed full support for the construction of Bali International Hospital.
"International standard services, in this case, hospital services, are no different from other business lines. The professionalism and quality of medical personnel will significantly determine user satisfaction. It needs to be supported by modern and complete health facilities. In addition, Bali International Hospital will serve as a model and stimulate the growth of other international standard hospitals," said Fadjar.
