Cimahi, June 1, 2024 – The Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan, appreciates Pertamina Patra Niaga for its rapid response in supervising the LPG filling at Bulk Elpiji Filling Stations (SPBE) that handles 3-kilogram (kg) LPG cylinders. It ensures that the public's rights are better protected.
"Pertamina Patra Niaga is also implementing more systematic and stringent supervision, leading to improvements here and there. Earlier, I directly observed the situation at the SPBE. The cylinders, being made of metal, become rusty over time and need repairs. If not repaired and continuously refilled, the sediment cannot be used, or the rusting cylinders result in reduced weight," said Zulkifli at SPBE PT Bajubang Gasindo, Cimahi, Saturday (1/6/2024).
He also appreciated the improvements made at the SPBE in cleaning and repairing LPG cylinders before refilling them. It ensures the accuracy of LPG measurements.
"If the cylinders are used continuously without repair, it can harm consumers. Such cylinders need repair and cleaning first. The rusty parts that affect the weight must be fixed so the cylinders can hold 5 kg as intended. Once they are in good condition, they can be filled. I observed that this SPBE has made good progress," Zulkifli continued.
Zulkifli also thanked Pertamina Patra Niaga for their swift action in ensuring the correct filling of LPG at the SPBE. He encouraged the residents of Cimahi to buy LPG from these stations, as the weights are now accurate.
"I appreciate Pertamina Patra Niaga for their systematic supervision as it concerns the livelihood of many people. When I visit different regions, I give credit where it's due and criticize where necessary. Today, the work done here is commendable. So, I invite the people of Cimahi to buy gas here, as the weights are now accurate, and the cylinders have been repaired," Zulkifli said.
During the same event, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Regional Marketing Director, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, stated that the SPBE inspection is a successful collaboration among all parties, including the Ministry of Trade. Pertamina teams across Indonesia are also swiftly making improvements.
"This is a good collaboration between the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), and Pertamina Patra Niaga to provide better services. Several teams have been working nationwide simultaneously over the past week to make improvements for better future services," said Mars Ega.
He added that besides field operations, they have coordinated with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as part of the ongoing supervision of LPG cylinder contents at the SPBE.
"We have also held discussions with the Directorate of Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and the Directorate of Downstream Oil and Gas Business Development of the Ministry of ESDM," added Mars Ega.
Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to enhance its synergy with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of ESDM in supervision and system improvements to ensure the smooth distribution of 3 kg LPG from SPBE to the public.
