New Pertamina Clean Charter - Directors and Commissioners are committed to Ensuring Integrity and Transparency

JAKARTA, August 10, 2020 – PT Pertamina Persero launched a New Pertamina Clean Charter signed by the Board of Director and Commissioner of Pertamina in Pertamina head office on August 8, 2020.

This commitment is the one of the implementation forms of ISO 37001:2016 regarding Anti-bribery Management System in organizations, in line with the values of Clean Pertamina, which are to manage the organization professionally, prevent conflict of interest, not tolerate bribe, uphold the trusteeship and integrity, and follow the foundations of good corporate governance.

“We are expecting New Pertamina Clean to be carried out well and become our culture and new values to enrich and complete the individuals in Pertamina who hold integrity and are clean and transparent.” Said Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina.

Nicke also appreciated the” Board of Commissioner who has been encouraging the internalization of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in Pertamina. Internalization *will continuously be carried out by the entire board of management and employees in their everyday lives as they are expected to apply GCG and the nine points of New Pertamina Clean in Pertamina.

Meanwhile, the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, appreciated this program and explained that New Pertamina Clean carries the core values of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in Indonesia, AKHLAK (morals), which is the moral ethics guide of BUMN today.

“Commissioners hope that New Clean Pertamina could encourage everything to be more transparent and digitalized,” he concluded.

The nine points of New Pertamina Clean are :

  1. Implement the corporate operational matters with business ethics and responsibility, as well as upholds firmly on the Good Corporate Governance guidelines with 4 NO’s principles:
    • No Bribery (no bribery and extortion)
    • No Kickback (no commission or sign of gratitudes in any forms)
    • No Gift (no gifts or gratification)
    • No Luxurious (no excessive banquet)
  2. Comply with the laws and regulations regarding anti-bribery and not tolerate any form of bribery in every corporate activity.
  3. Implement ISO 37001:2016 regarding Anti-bribery Management System in the company as a form of attempt in continuous improvement
  4. Encourage and motivate every individual in Pertamina, partner, stakeholder of the organization to look after and take roles in anti-bribery commitment implementation, including not to receive and/or give any form of gratification that contradicts with the laws and regulations that apply
  5. Avoid any form of conflict of interest in every decision making steps and business activities of the company
  6. Conduct socialization and training regarding 4 NO’s principles to the entire employees of Pertamina regularly and maintain the communications to the stakeholders
  7. Conduct supervision and monitor the development of the implementation regularly for sustainable improvements
  8. Impose strict sanctions towards those who are involved in bribery acts under corporate authority according to the provisions which apply
  9. Fully commit and make evident efforts to carry out Anti-bribery Management System and implement Zero Tolerance principles towards any violation that occur

This New Pertamina Clean Charter has been signed by the entire Board of Director and Commissioner of PT Pertamina on June 12, 2020.
