Nicke Widyawati Becomes a Bintang CSR at the Indonesia Best Social Responsibility Awards (BESAR) 2023

Jakarta, October 26, 2023 - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati received the Bintang Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award at the 2023 Indonesia Best Social Responsibility Awards (BESAR) initiated by the La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, in Jakarta, Wednesday (25/10).

This appreciation is received by Nicke Widyawati as the leader of the company with exceptional responsibility for the success and sustainability of the CSR program.

La Tofi, founder and leader of the La Tofi Award and the School of Social Responsibility, conveyed that the CSR field has created prominent figures with important roles. Therefore, the BESAR appreciation is awarded to individuals like Nicke Widyawati as Bintang CSR Stars for their significant contributions.

"Bintang CSRs, or award recipients, are a powerful inspiration for CSR practices that bring positive and sustainable changes to society and companies. One example is the President Director of Pertamina. Through her leadership, Nicke Widyawati is known for her success, ensuring energy availability to all, promoting energy transition, and making communities from Sabang to Merauke beneficiaries of Pertamina's social responsibility," La Tofi explained.

The award was accepted on behalf of Nicke Widyawati by Fajriyah Usman, Vice President of CSR & SMEPP Management of Pertamina. She also delivered a presentation on "Energizing Sustainable Community," a collaborative effort involving the community to create socially impactful and sustainable activities.

Besides Nicke Widyawati, other Pertamina Group members, including the Pertamina Foundation and PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan Zone I, received recognition from La Tofi.

Furthermore, the Indonesia BESAR Review Certificates of appreciation were presented to PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Jambi Merang Field, PT Pertamina EP Rantau Field, PT Pertamina EP Lirik Field, PT Pertamina EP Jambi Field, and PT Pertalife Insurance.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, expressed that this recognition is a result of Pertamina's commitment to providing positive benefits to the people of Indonesia, particularly in stimulating the nation's economy and self-reliance.

"Many people have already experienced the positive impacts of this program. We hope that further the Pertamina Group's programs will become even more integrated, thus extending their reach and impact to all of Pertamina's operational areas," Fadjar stated.

In 2022, the Pertamina program reached approximately 45,000 beneficiaries. It includes health programs for 17,000 mothers and children, empowerment of 14,000 female micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, social food assistance to 12,000 households, and job placements for 4,000 workers. Additionally, there were empowerment initiatives for 2,600 farmers and fishermen, educational support for 1,500 students, and empowerment programs for 500 individuals with disabilities.

Through the Sustainable Environment program, the Energi Berdikari Village and Pertamina Forest reduce emissions by 685,000 tons of CO2eq per year with a total multiplier effect of Rp 2.8 billion per year and 119 community empowerment programs.

The Sustainable Education program, through the Sobat Bumi and Sahabat Disabilitas scholarship programs, reached 50 students from the 3T areas (Underdeveloped, Frontline, Remote) and Eastern Indonesia, along with 70 individuals with disabilities who are now self-reliant with permanent employment.

The Sustainable Academy program, with UMK Academy Desa Wisatawa and Enduro Entrepreneurship, yielded 43 programs for the UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) development to go global, with a total income of Rp 600 million for the conscious tourism groups and 329 students from vocational schools trained in independent workshops.
