Nicke Widyawati Re-enters Fortune's 100 Most Powerful Women List
Jakarta, November 23, 2023 - The President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, has once again been recognized globally by making it to Fortune Magazine's list of the 100 most influential women in the world for 2023. Positioned at 67, she is the sole woman from the ASEAN region.
As per Fortune's official website, having served as the CEO of Pertamina since 2018, Nicke Widyawati has steered her company to a net profit of USD 3.8 billion in 2022, an 86% increase from the previous year. Under Nicke's leadership, Pertamina's revenue in 2022 also surged by 47.6% from the preceding period, reaching USD 84.9 billion, while oil and gas production rose by 8%.
Fortune acknowledges Nicke's success in leading the multinational company to enhance its oil and gas production, citing strategies such as Indonesia's Masela Gas Field acquisition.
In Fortune's assessment, Pertamina's accomplishments under Nicke's leadership are evident in the state-owned energy company's prioritization of transitioning its business towards clean and low-carbon energy. It is being pursued through partnerships, investments, and strategies, including geothermal projects, biofuel production, carbon capture, storage, utilization, and electric vehicle battery development.
