The visit was to conduct a direct review of the oil and gas WK that had just been given over to Pertamina through PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR). It is also to meet with the workers who had recently joined the PHR.
Erick visited Central Gathering Station 10, Duri Steamflood (CGS 10 DSF), Duri, Bengkalis, to see the utilization and recycling of produced water in a high-tech and environmentally friendly steam injection system. CGS 10 facility is also the largest for the Duri field, processing 200 thousand barrels of fluid per day and producing around 19 thousand barrels of oil per day. Their presence was welcomed by the President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), Budiman Parhusip, and the President Director of PT PHR, Jaffee Arizon Suardin.
During the visit, Erick also had a dialogue and motivated the workers who used to be in PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) and have now joined Pertamina, a state-owned enterprise. Erick also appreciated the number of CPI workers who joined PHR.
"I appreciate you all with open arms. 98% of them have joined. Let's work together to improve SOEs," said Erick.
In addition to conveying the five main priorities of SOEs, Erick emphasized that he wanted the management of the Rokan Block to increase production, especially for state income.
In addition, PHR is also expected to provide public service values that impacted community welfare.
"What's interesting is that we (SOE) also run public services, one of which is through CSR, especially at this time for handling Covid," he said.
Meanwhile, Nicke Widyawati emphasized the HSSE aspect as a priority in operations. She also explained Pertamina's future business vision to PHR workers.
"There will be an energy transition from fossil fuels to new and renewable energy. Therefore, we must focus on changing our operations to a more environmentally friendly direction," she said. Nicke also explained the various efforts made by Pertamina to respond to the energy transition for the sustainability of Pertamina's future business, including integrating refineries with petrochemicals.
"We will enter petrochemicals which will continue to grow. In the last 5-10 years, the growth of 3.5 percent will increase to 5.5 percent per year. So, we will switch from fuel to petrochemicals with the oil base that we have," said Nicke.
During this visit, Erick also visited the Mandau Cipta Tenaga Nusantara (MCTN) power plant, now operated by PT PLN. This power plant is one of the mainstays in supplying electricity and steam for the operation of the Rokan Block.**
