Jakarta, October 20, 2023 - On the second day of the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2023 exhibition, 30 Pertamina’s fostered MSMEs demonstrated their excellence by recording IDR 7 billion transactions. This figure is expected to rise as the TEI 2023 exhibition continues until Sunday (22/10) at ICE-BSD, Tangerang.
One of the MSMEs that successfully caught consumers’ attention is D'Etnick Istana Mutiara Lombok, which managed to sell pearls weighing 1.79 kg with a transaction value of IDR 1.6 billion. "I never imagined I would get such a large transaction. Meeting buyers in person is a dream come true for all business players aiming to penetrate the global market," said Janual Aidi, the owner of D'Etnick Istana Mutiara Lombok.
Janual Aidi is confident with his pearl products from East Lombok, featuring an ethnic concept, and successfully won the hearts of buyers from Russia and Korea. Offering a complete range of products from low-grade to high-grade is one of Janual's tricks to enter all markets. "The Asian and European markets are currently favorable for pearls," he said.
After successful negotiations at the Pertamina Trade Expo Indonesia 2023 booth, Janual immediately called his wife to prepare the goods according to the weight and diameter criteria desired by both buyers. The 1.79 kg pearls will be delivered in two days for quality control. While his wife prepared the goods, Janual continued to network and seek other buyers at the Pertamina TEI 2023 MSME booth.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, revealed that, in addition to pearls, several other products supported by Pertamina's MSMEs also attracted the visitors’ attention. Indonesian spices and culinary specialties also became popular, resulting in significant revenue. "We hope that transactions will continue to increase until the end of the exhibition," he added.
Pertamina remains committed to empowering its fostered MSMEs with a focus on marketing, promotion, and digitalization, to enhance MSMEs’ capacity, competitiveness, and ability to compete in the international market. Pertamina will continue to increase its fostered MSMEs’ participation in exhibitions, both domestically and internationally, as part of its commitment to expand local products in the global market.
"The key point is that after the exhibition ends, there are still long-term sales transactions and an increasing acceptance of MSME products in the global market," stated Fadjar.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement.
