Jakarta, September 9, 2021 – A month after the Rokan Working Area (WK) acquisition, production in the Rokan Working Area increased. Production at the Rokan Working Area is currently in the range of 158,000 BOPD (barrels of oil per day).
"During this month, there has been an increase in production of 1,000 - 2,000 BOPD. Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Bussiness Activities (SKK Migas) and PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) continue the coordination so that the lifting target of Rokan Working Area in 2021 can be achieved," said Deputy of SKK Migas Operations, Julius Wiratno in Jakarta (9/9/2021).
The lifting target of Rokan Working Area in the 2021 State Budget is 165 thousand BOPD. "By the end of the year, there will be 17 rigs carrying out drilling. We remain optimistic that the target of Rokan Working Area in 2021 will be achieved," he explained.
On Tuesday (7/9), PHR started operating the 13th rig at Pungut P04 Well, Pungut Field, part of Bengkalis Regency. PT Asia Petrocom Service operates Airlangga-55 Rig. Since the acquisition of the Rokan Working Area on August 9, 2021, until now, PHR has drilled 23 wells.
"PHR continues to strive to increase the number of rigs. The addition of rigs can accelerate the number of wells exponentially in addition to support the drilling targets this year," said PHR President Director Jaffee A. Suardin.
PHR is committed to launching a massive and aggressive work program to maintain and even increase the production level of the Rokan Working Area. For example, in the drilling program, PHR strives to meet the drilling target of 161 wells by the end of the year.
"The support of all stakeholders is very important for the drilling program to run smoothly, including support from the local government and the surrounding community," said Jaffee.
In addition to the aggressive drilling program, PHR continues to strive to maintain base business performance. Various efforts were made: increasing the number of rework rigs to 29 rigs, minimize the potential for loss of production or Loss Production Opportunity (LPO), maintain equipment reliability to reduce downtime, and suppress cases of theft of crude oil and equipment supporting oil and gas operations.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Sumbagut SKK Migas Representative, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, said that the Sumbagut SKK Migas Representative continued to monitor the progress of massive drilling in the Rokan Working Area spread across seven regencies/cities to keep it running smoothly and safely.
"We are grateful for the full support from the community, the Local Government, Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian Army, and their staff for the seamless transition so that PHR can focus more on operational activities in the Rokan Working Area. Hopefully, this condition will continue to be maintained, and the production of Rokan Working Area will continue to increase," he explained.
The smooth operation of the Rokan Working Area is the success of the acquisition reflection that runs systematically and structurally. Coordination of the involved parties also went well, starting two years before the Rokan Working Area contract ended. In the future, the Rokan Working Area operation is worth being a reference for other termination blocks in Indonesia.**
