Prabumulih, February 21, 2022 – Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding through the Zone 4 Sumatra Regional, SKK Migas's Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS), is optimistic to achieve its production target in 2022. Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field, included in Zone 4 Sumatra Regional Upstream Subholding, has successfully recorded an additional 709 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) from the KRG-PA1 well. Besides that, Zone 4 Sumatra Regional drilled another 3 development wells, namely TMB-PA and KRG-PA2 by Pertamina EP Prabumulih and PMN-E by Pertamina EP Limau Field.
The TMB-PA well was drilled on February 16, 2022, using the PDSI #20.2/EMSCOD2-M rig with an estimated time of 50 days and is projected to increase oil production by 250 BOPD. On the same date, the KRG-PA2 well was also drilled using the PDSI #32.2/N80UE-E rig for an estimated 44 days and is projected to increase oil production by 140 BOPD. On February 18, 2022, Pertamina EP Limau Field, included in Zone 4 Sumatra Regional, continued drilling the PMN-E well using the PDSI #39.3/D1500-E/PDSI rig with an estimated time of 32 days and a 150 BOPD production target of oil and 2 million gas standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).
The three development wells are located in two administrative areas, including Muara Enim Regency and Prabumulih City, South Sumatra Province. The drilling plan was coordinated with the local district/city government had received positive support. Matnur Latif, S.T., M.Sc., The Head of the Prabumulih City Research and Development Agency, expressed his support and hopes that this drilling will run smoothly and succeeds in increasing Pertamina's oil and gas production.
"We hope that Pertamina's efforts are successful, that can increase regional income through the oil and gas revenue-sharing mechanism, and provide a multiplier effect, especially for the community. We always support Pertamina's efforts to increase oil and gas production," said Latif.
The General Manager of Zone 4, Agus Amperianto, said that the aggressive steps of KKKS incorporated in Zone 4 of the Sumatra Subholding Upstream Region are not without reason, to meet the Zone 4 oil and gas production target, which is 23,700 BOPD of oil and 498 MMSCFD of gas. A short, medium-term, and well-planed strategy is needed to meet the Zone 4 oil and gas production target, which is 23,700 BOPD of oil and 498 MMSCFD of gas.
“Zone 4 Sumatra Regional Upstream Subholding has prepared a massive work plan with a solid timeline, including 41 development wells and four exploration wells, 41 workover wells, as well as 934 well intervention well services. This year's production target is demanded to be higher than the realization in 2021, so it is necessary to ensure that the realization of each drilling, workover, and well intervention work plan runs according to the time and production targets," said Agus.
Agus admits that the massive and aggressive work program is one of the strategies to increase oil and gas production for Zone 4 Sumatra Regional Upstream Subholding KKKS. This implementation is in line with the spirit of SUMATERA (SUstainable, MAssive, To grow, Efficient, Resilient, Aggressive) promoted by KKKS Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) in the Sumatra region.
"Our efforts include improving operating performance, optimizing existing production fields, continuing exploration work programs, transforming resources to production, and utilizing technology to implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR)," Agus explained.
Anggono Mahendawan, the Head of Representative for SKK Migas Sumbagsel, said that SKK Migas and KKKS would continue to increase oil and gas production, particularly in the Southern Sumatra region. "This effort is also carried out to achieve the national production target together with the hope that in the future we can maintain national energy security together," said Anggono.
Until early February 2022, year-to-date SKK Migas Integrated Operation System (SOT) data shows oil production is at 23,417 BOPD or around 99% of the target. Meanwhile, gas production is at 517.52 MMSCFD or about 104% of the target. This production is supported by seven self-operated fields, namely Prabumulih, Limau, Pendopo, Adera, Ramba, Ogan Komering, and Raja Tempirai. In addition, production is also supported by two non-operator work areas, namely Corridor and Suban Unitization, and ten Joint Operations (KSO).**
