Participating in the Tong Tong Festival in the Netherlands, Pertamina's 175 Best Products MSMEs Are Ready to Go Global

Jakarta, September 2, 2022 – A lively festival featuring dance, music, literature, and Indonesian culinary arts in the Netherlands, known as the 2022 Tong Tong Festival, is officially held. Pertamina brought 175 best MSME products of its fostered partners who are ready to go Global at the event, which takes place from September 1 – 11, 2022, in Den Haag.

Special Staff 3 to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, said that the Roemah BUMN at the Tong Tong Festival was the Ministry of SOE's step in collaborating with Pertamina and several other SOEs to encourage MSMEs to Go Global. Arya also expressed his appreciation for Pertamina's MSME partners' participation who presented various superior works.

"This event is not only for exhibitions. It also opens new markets for Indonesian MSMEs, especially Pertamina's fostered partners. It is proven that the MSME products are impressive, attractive, and can compete with other international products," said Arya.

At this year's Tong Tong Festival, Pertamina is grateful to present fostered partners with quality products from skilled hands full of talents from all over the country. It shows Pertamina's high commitment in driving the national economy by advancing MSMEs and ensuring MSMEs continue to Go Global.

VP of CSR & SMEPP of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, revealed that 175 products came from MSMEs under Pertamina's Rumah BUMN guidance spread across 30 points throughout Indonesia. The product has also gone through a strict curation process carried out by Pertamina and the 2022 Tong Tong Festival Committee.

"The selected MSME products are "local champions" in the domestic market and have the taste and quality that follows the global market's needs. The 175 types of superior products that pass this curation consist of fashion, food, and crafts," said Fajriyah.

For fashion, there are eco-print clothing, shoes, and bags printed from various plant types with environmentally friendly coloring by Iema MSME from Dumai and Cetak Godhong MSME from Balikpapan. There are various products made from traditional Indonesian fabrics, including the Equator Weaving MSME from Pontianak, the Dela Tapis MSME from Lampung, the Wan Atiqa Weaving MSME from Dumai. There are also the Baimbai Sasirangan Pedaling MSME and the Waroeng Sasirangan Disability MSME from Banjarmasin, whose products are the work of 25 people with disabilities: speech impaired, quadriplegic, and mentally retarded.

Meanwhile, the food consisted of products made from cassava and pineapple from Dapur Bunda Duri MSME, sago noodle products of the Meranti Islands Riau from Misagu Boejang MSME, food made from healthy bananas without gluten made by De Harvest Jaya MSME from North Sulawesi, and confectionery products from Bakul Jamu Euis MSME from Dumai.

For handicrafts, there are various artistic products of cloth, metal, natural stone, and other natural materials, which are the work of Joglo Ayu Tenan MSME from Yogyakarta, Bahalap MSME from East Kalimantan, and Rezky Kreasi MSME from Dumai.

"Involving the MSME products from fostered partners in international scale exhibitions abroad is one of the highest forms of support for Pertamina's coaching program so that MSME products are promoted to Go Global," said Fajriyah. In fulfilling the need for access to MSMEs funding, another coaching support is carried out by Pertamina, such as mentoring, promotion, certification, and various kinds of training.

Pertamina continues to support the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement through the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs implementation in all its operational areas. It is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community and drive the national economy.
