Bengkalis, November 12, 2021 – PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional Unit Sungai Pakning inaugurated Filagam innovation or Peat Water Filtration on Thursday (11/11) in Lubuk Muda Village, Siak Kecil District. Filagam is a technology developed by Pertamina officers to process peat water to become suitable for use by the community.
The Filagam program innovation is driven by the challenge of obtaining clean water in the vicinity of the Dayang River, Lubuk Muda Village. "The peat water was safe to use. Since many chemicals enter our peat soil through fertilizers and others, the water is contaminated. So we are hesitant to use peat water and prefer to collect rainwater for our needs," explained Ilham, Community Leader of Lubuk Muda Village.
The Filagam facility was inaugurated by the General Manager of the Kilang Pertamina Internasional RU II Dumai, Permono Avianto, and the ranks of the Siak Kecil Forkompimcam.
Aulia Fikri, S.Sos, M.Si, Secretary of the Siak Kecil Sub-district, stated that the Filagam innovation made it easier for people in the area to access clean water. "Before this program, the community always relied on rainwater for their activities. During the dry season, they always had difficulty getting clean water. We hope this program will be a solution to clean water needs in Beringin Hamlet. This program also includes various Pertamina assistances related to community activity facilities, which we hope can further support the activities of our village community," he said,
The General Manager of RU II Dumai explained that the Peat Water Conservation Program was the answer to social issues in Lubuk Muda Village regarding the availability of clean water. According to him, PT KPI Sungai Pakning Unit Peat Water Filtration innovation can process 5,840 tons/year raw water sources into clean water. "This clean water has been distributed to residents in the Beringin Hamlet, Lubuk Muda Village. We hope we can collaborate to create an independent and prosperous society. Pertamina officers' innovation has answered the 6th goal of sustainable development or SDGs implementation, namely ensuring the availability and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation for all," he concluded.**
