Jakarta, April 1, 2021 - After T-301 tank incident in Balongan Refinery area, PT Pertamina (Persero) has confirmed that re-operation of the Balongan Refinery will be carried out soon.
In line with reoperation, the ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident will be accelerated. It is in accordance to the direction of the Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero) delivered at a coordination meeting between the Board of Commissioners and Directors this morning. This decision is Pertamina's commitment to the principle of zero tolerance for any incidents within Pertamina.
It was conveyed by Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto, shortly after the coordination meeting between the Board of Commissioners and Directors.
"In accordance with the board of directors' policy and the direction of the Board of Commissioners, Pertamina fully supports the investigation process conducted by the authorities. Management will give strict sanctions if there is an element of negligence in this incident," said Agus.
Furthermore, Agus explained that since the incident occurred, Pertamina has formed an internal investigation team in collaboration with law enforcement officials (APH). Pertamina opens widest possible access to APH to carry out investigations.
"This team will coordinate with the authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation. The board of commissioners and directors do not tolerate field negligence," Agus concluded.
