Pertamina Achieves The Best Industry Marketing Champion 2023 Award for Commitment to Sustainability

Jakarta, December 7, 2023 - Pertamina has received the Best Industry Marketing Champion 2023 award in the energy sector for its commitment to sustainability. Pertamina is recognized for its achievements in various innovations ranging from business transformation and digitalization, to commitment to sustainable business practices.

Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina, received the award at the Marketeer of The Year 2023 event organized by MarkPlus in collaboration with the Indonesia Marketing Association (IMA) in Jakarta on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Under Nicke's leadership, Pertamina, as the holding company, has strategically moved and driven the new business development. Meanwhile, the sub-holdings have operated their businesses with operational excellence principles, enabling them to be more independent, aggressive, and agile in conducting their operations.

Simultaneously, through digital transformation, Pertamina has successfully utilized digital technology as a primary pillar across all business lines within the Pertamina Group to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation. Digital transformation is executed by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data analysis, and creating innovations that cater to societal needs, such as the Digital Petrol Station (Digital SPBU) program.

Nicke Widyawati emphasized Pertamina strives to enhance its role as a sustainable company by assuming the role of a leader in the energy transition and implementing Environment, Social, & Governance (ESG) aspects to support the Net Zero Emission 2060 target and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"Pertamina is committed to continuously fulfill its three major roles as the national energy company: securing Indonesia's energy sovereignty through the enhancement of existing businesses (oil and gas), facilitating the energy transition through clean and renewable energy, and actively contributing to achieving NZE," stated Nicke.

Nicke added that Indonesia holds significant potential, especially in energy transition, due to its abundance of clean and renewable energy sources such as gas, geothermal, biofuels, solar, wind, and natural-based solutions (NBS), among others. Additionally, there is potential in carbon capture utilization and storage (CCS/CCUS).

"Pertamina plays a crucial role in maintaining Indonesia's energy resilience by providing energy that is affordable, accessible, and acceptable while supporting the energy mix target achievement," Nicke concluded.
