Jakarta, April 17, 2021 - Pertamina has built sanitation in ten tourist villages to support the Lake Toba region as a Super Priority Tourism Destination. Sanitation development is carried out with international standards to attract foreign interest and provide convinience to tourists visiting the Lake Toba area.
The sanitation development carried out as part of Pertamina's Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL) is spread across Humbang Hasundutan Regency (3 Tourism Villages), Toba Regency (4 Tourism Villages), and North Tapanuli Regency (3 Tourism Villages). The handover of Pertamina's TJSL Program was carried out at Lake Toba, North Tapanuli, Friday, April 16, 2021.
Present at the virtual handover was the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Villages for Disadvantaged Areas and Transmigration, Abdul Halim Iskandar. Also present were Deputy Minister for State-Owned Enterprises, Pahala N Mansyuri, Commissioner of Pertamina, Condro Kirono, and Regent of North Tapanuli, Nikson Nababan. They all give their appreciation to Pertamina for implementing the TJSL program in the form of Sanitation development in the Lake Toba area.
Sanitation development in 10 tourist villages is carried out through collaboration between Pertamina and the Central and Local Governments to strengthen the development of super-priority tourist destinations.
Pertamina also provides funding to 56 MSMEs Pertamina's fostered partners through a partnership program scheme in the Lake Toba Tourism Area.
Pertamina also provides Pertashop in 9 locations to supply quality and environmentally friendly energy needs in the tourist destination of Toba.
Human Resources Director of Pertamina, M. Erry Sugiharto, said that as a National Energy SOE, Pertamina plays a role in running a business and contributes to public service and sustainability.
Erry added that Pertamina's involvement in the collaboration in the Lake Toba Tourism Area realizes SDGs point 6, namely clean water and proper sanitation. Along with SDGs 7, access to clean and affordable energy, and SDGs 8, decent work, and sustainable economic growth.
