Pertamina Becomes the Most Committed Company in SDGs Program Implementation in the 2021 ISDA Event

Jakarta, September 19, 2021 – Pertamina's commitment to supporting sustainable development goals by implementing the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program has received recognition from stakeholders. This time, the Corporate Forum for Community Development (CFCD) won four titles for the SOE in the 2021 Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Award (ISDA), namely The Top Leadership on SDGs, The Most Committed Corporate on Social Pillar, The Most Committed Corporate on Economy Pilar, and The Most Committed Corporate on Environment Pilar (17/9).

ISDA is a prestigious event routinely held annually by the CFCD in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas as the lead sector in the SDGs in Indonesia. This award is an appreciation for companies that have successfully implemented CSR programs and contributed to the 17 points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievements.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, appreciated various parties who campaign for sustainable development programs. He also hopes that this activity can inspire the corporate sector to improve the quality of life, related to environmental management and activities with the community.

Airlangga added that the government cannot work alone to realize the SDGs. For this reason, there needs to be a collective effort from companies, media, and educational institutions to achieve these goals.

The government is also committed to implementing sustainable development following the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

"President Joko Widodo emphasized this commitment in his state address on August 16, 2021. In the future, the government will always implement a development strategy that does not ignore the principles of the green economy, pays attention to green sustainability, and a blue economy that pays attention to the welfare of the community in a sustainable manner," said Airlangga Hartanto.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, said the same thing. According to him, the CSR program can encourage the participation and contribution of the business world in achieving the SDGs in Indonesia.

"Congratulations to this year's ISDA recipients. We wish you more success, more enthusiasm to support Indonesia's acceleration towards the development goals of advanced Indonesia," said Muhadjir.

Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, expressed her gratitude for the company's achievements. Fajriyah explained, in addition to the four awards achieved by Pertamina Holding, 23 CSR programs from Subholding also won the 2021 ISDA award.

"The various programs that are being rolled out are a manifestation of the company's commitment to supporting the SDGs and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation in every line of operation. The goal is to support sustainable development goals as proclaimed by the government," explained Fajriyah.
