Jakarta, May 20, 2022 - Thirteen Pertamina buildings in the processing (midstream) and downstream sectors have received a Green Building certificate from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). The building uses clean, free-emission, and environmentally friendly energy.
Green Building Council Indonesia is an independent organization founded in 2009 by leading professionals and companies in the building industry.
The 13 buildings include the HSSE Demoroom for the Dumai Processing Unit, the proper center building for the Pakning River Processing Unit in Riau, the GM office for the Plaju processing unit in South Sumatra, the main office for the Cilacap processing unit in Central Java, the Pertamax Building for the Balongan processing unit in West Java, the Maos BBM Terminal Building in Central Java, the Rewulu BBM Terminal Building in Yogyakarta, the Boyolali BBM Terminal Building in Central Java, the Bandung BBM Terminal Building for the Padalarang Group in West Java, the Cikampek BBM Terminal Building for West Java, the Tanjung Gerem BBM Terminal Building in Banten, the Tanjung Priok Jakarta Integrated LPG Terminal Building, and Plumpang Jakarta Integrated Fuel Terminal Building.
Acting Vice President of Pertamina Corporate Communication, Heppy Wulansari, said the clean energy transition carried out in Pertamina's operational buildings is an Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) integrated implementation. Thus, all Pertamina buildings and work areas upstream to downstream are emission and environmentally friendly. The average energi savings contributed from the 13 locations reached 47%, and 42% for air savings.
The location that contributes the most to energy saving is the Tanjung Priok LPG Integrated Terminal Building, Jakarta, which is up to 60%. And the location that contributes the most to water saving is the proper center building location of the Processing Unit in the Pakning River area of Riau, which is up to 57%," Heppy said.
The green building concept is Pertamina's commitment to achieving net zero-emission in accordance with the company's target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and increasing the renewable energy mix from 9.2 percent in 2019 to 17.7 percent in 2030.
"Other buildings are in the certification process. In the future, it is hoped that Pertamina's buildings will be certified as Green Buildings. Pertamina will continue to lead the energy transition in Indonesia, and Pertamina has started including its own home," Heppy said.**
