Pertamina Collaborates with Business Partner in Australia, Opening Opportunities for Lubricant Products and MSMEs to Go Global  

Jakarta, November 18, 2020 - PT Pertamina (Persero) expands its business expansion to various aspects and regions. It is manifested in the MoU signing between PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) and two business partners in Australia on Monday (16/11). The cooperation simultaneously opens opportunities for fostered MSMEs by the Pertamina Partnership Program to Go Global.

Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Heppy Wulansari, said with the MoU facility between Australian importing companies and Indonesian export aggregator companies that bring MSME products to Australia. It is an effort to encourage Pertamina lubricant products' export and Pertamina's MSME products to the Australian market.

"Especially concerning the implementation of the Indonesia Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA - CEPA), which was signed on July 5, 2020, between Indonesia and Australia. Where it provides opportunities for access to goods and services with duty-free import facilities (import duty rates are eliminated)," explained Heppy.

With this expansion, continued Heppy, Pertamina will network with global partners. Moreover, there is scattered coverage of the cooperation that has been made, namely from the business side by PTPL and the marketing efforts of MSME products guided by Pertamina through CSR & SMEPP Management PT Pertamina (Persero).

"We hope that this collaboration can encourage the existence and increase the competitiveness of not only Pertamina's lubricant products but also other superior Indonesian MSME products in the global trade arena," said Heppy.

This effort is one form of implementation of the Goal 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth and a full and productive workforce. "Where it is hoped that it can help people get decent work and encourage national economic growth," she added.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by VP Overseas of PT Pertamina Lubricants, Mia Khrisna Anggraini, and witnessed by the Director of Sales & Marketing of PT Pertamina Lubricants, Andria Nusa, Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Kasan; The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Canberra Australia, H.E.Y. Kristiarto S. Legowo; Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia for New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia Based in Sydney, Heru Hartanto Subolo and other Indonesian representatives.

The signing was carried out through the Australian Representative Office with two Pertamina lubricants business partners operating in Perth, namely HLT Australia Pty. Ltd and Berdi Australia Pty. Ltd. at the 2020 Trade Expo Virtual Exhibition (TEI VE).

This collaboration is an effort by PT Pertamina Lubricants to expand its overseas business portfolio by partnering with the best partners to penetrate industrial lubricant products in the Australian market, particularly in Victoria's transportation and mining segment and Western Australia regions.

"Australia is a potential and attractive market for us. The presence of a Representative Office makes it easier for us to seek even greater market potential. This collaboration is a good synergy to encourage the use/testing of Pertamina's industrial lubricant products, which are undoubtedly the quality. Approval and certification from world engine manufacturers, Pertamina lubricants can compete globally," said Sales & Marketing Director of PT Pertamina Lubricants Andria Nusa.

Various Industrial lubricant products for the transportation and mining segments include diesel engine oils, powershift transmission oils, final drive & axle lubricants, hydraulic fluids, industrial gear oils, compressor oils, refrigeration oils, and industrial greases.

This collaboration is also fully supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Perth and the Canberra Trade Attaché with a commitment to build Pertamina's lubricant market in Australia.**
