Jakarta, August 18, 2021 – As a gift for the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, 2 Pertamina employees made proud achievements of appropriate technology innovation, earning them the Satyalancana Wira Karya award per Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 52/TK/Year 2021.
The two Pertamina employees who received this award served in the Upstream Subholding and have succeeded in creating technological innovations that support the optimization of productivity in the national oil and gas industry as well as encourage the progress of the domestic industry.
Ardian Fandika, listed as a Senior Engineer Project Engineering at Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), has succeeded in providing technical support in the pipeline industry through the fitness for service approach. Therefore, it improves the quality of domestic steel pipe products and domestic products (TKDN) usage in oil and gas operations. This innovation has been used in PHM projects such as South Mahakam Gas Supply to the Balikpapan Refinery (SMGS RU-V), Jumelai and Sisi Nubi (JSN), and Well Connection for the development of the Tunu Field.
Irawan Josodipuro, a Piping Valve Pressure Vessel Reference Specialist at PHM, has also created innovations. Namely, the method of assessing and qualifying oil and gas equipment testing in the form of pressure vessels (static equipment) and valves that succeeded in improving the quality of domestic products that meet international standards of high complexity.
President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, expressed her appreciation to the two workers for working sincerely and highly dedicated to improving work effectiveness and company progress. Pertamina's work environment also encourages creativity and innovation through various innovation programs from employees. It is in line with the direction of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, to have SOEs foster a work environment that can encourage innovation and technology.
"We are proud because this employee innovation is not only useful for achieving company performance but also has a positive impact on the progress of the oil and gas industry and also encourages the increase in domestic components that are the government's target," she said.
President Commissioner of Pertamina, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, was also proud of the officer's achievements. "Congratulations to Ardian and Irawan for the award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia for having succeeded in making domestic products that can be used in all work processes at Pertamina. It is very extraordinary," he said during the commemoration of Indonesian Independence Day held by Pertamina.
Ardian Fandika said that with the results of the product quality analysis, he then recommended domestic manufacturers to make improvements. This success is assessed by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas ESDM as a breakthrough in fostering local industries' processes.
"We direct domestic manufacturers to produce goods according to their use and gradually can then be upgraded to products with higher technical requirements that can meet the needs of oil and gas operations throughout Indonesia and even globally," said Ardian.
Ardian continued, the government has targeted an increase in domestic products (TKDN) usage, and Pertamina has responded to this target by making an assessment and development program for the national industry.
"While carrying out assignments abroad, I gained a lot of knowledge and experience and am accustomed to collaborating with manufacturers/factories that produce the company's operational needs. I implemented this experience when I was coaching the domestic industry, and thank God it yielded positive results," said Ardian.
Satyalancana Wira Karya is a sign of honor given by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to its citizens who have given outstanding service to Indonesia so that they can be role models for others. The government gave this award to 16 outstanding Indonesian citizens.**
