Jakarta, August 2, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero), through the PERTIWI Community, is holding Financial Literacy Week 2024 at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, to educate financial management. This event is Pertamina's effort to provide financial management understanding to all Pertamina employees and partners, enabling them to manage their finances wisely and avoid 'fraudulent' investments.
The Pertiwi Community supports women's empowerment and leadership. It is also part of the Srikandi BUMN within the Pertamina Group. At this event, Pertiwi collaborates with Investor Relations, Industrial Relations, Compensation & Benefit Pertamina, and Pertamina Corporate University.
According to Emma Sri Martini, Director of Finance and Chairperson of PERTIWI Pertamina, this program is part of an affirmative movement to support the well-being of Pertamina employees. "This program is designed to empower employees (referred to as Perwira) in managing their finances wisely, preparing for their financial future, and protecting themselves from unlicensed investment risks," said Emma at the opening of Financial Literacy Week 2024 earlier this week, Monday (July 29, 2024).
The week-long event, held from July 29 to August 2, 2024, was attended by thousands of employees. The series of events included 15 talk show sessions related to financial literacy, financial consultations or "1-on-1 financial coaching clinics," and booths from Tugu Insurance, Patra Jasa, Pertalife, ANTAM, OJK, and State-Owned Banks (Himbara).
The talk show sessions began with a presentation from OJK's Director of Literacy and Education, Mr. Horas V. M. Tarihoran. It included discussions with stock investor Ellen May and Pertamina Group issuers listed on the stock exchange (PGAS, PGEO, TUGU, ELSA), as well as other financial experts.
"With better financial literacy, we hope employees can use financial products more intelligently and manage their finances better. When personal finances are stable, work productivity will also improve," explained Emma.
Vice President of Corporate Communication Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that this event is Pertamina's and employees' commitment to enhancing knowledge and competencies in financial understanding and employee welfare.
"Pertamina, as a sustainable company, maintains the existence of its employees, including enhancing their self-actualization. Events like this are expected to motivate employees to work better and provide superior service to the community," explained Fadjar.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
