Pertamina Ensures Adequate Jet Fuel Supply at Soekarno-Hatta Airport During the Long Iduladha Holiday

Jakarta, July 2, 2023 - This year's Iduladha holiday is different from previous years. The government announced that the Iduladha 1444H holiday would be extended to three days, on June 28, 29, and 30, 2023, including the following Saturday and Sunday. To anticipate this, Pertamina Patra Niaga, through the West Java Regional Division (JBB), ensures a sufficient supply of plane fuel (Avtur) at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Pertamina has observed an increase in people's movement, especially in the aviation sector, domestically and internationally, until the end of the month. Therefore, the operational conditions, facilities, and services at the Soekarno-Hatta Fuel Terminal & Hydrant Installation (SHAFTHI) and the Soekarno-Hatta Into Plane Service (SHIPS) are guaranteed to be in a safe and optimal condition to support smooth operations.

Immanuel Kornelius Silaen, the Operation Head of Soekarno-Hatta Fuel Terminal & Hydrant Installation (SHAFTHI), explained that there is an approximately 16.46% increase in aircraft fuel sales, or Avtur, in preparation for this long Iduladha holiday compared to Avtur consumption during the same period last year. However, Pertamina Aviation Soekarno-Hatta has anticipated this by ensuring adequate Avtur supply to fulfill airlines’ needs.

Furthermore, Eko Kristiawan, the Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga West Java Regional Division, stated that Pertamina is committed to fulfilling the Avtur demand for all flights by preparing Avtur stockpile at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for more than 14 days.

"As the busiest airport in Indonesia, Soekarno-Hatta SHAFTHI and SHIPS operate in three shifts for 24 hours. It is to anticipate any surge in Avtur demand," Eko concluded.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, the Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), emphasized Pertamina's commitment to ensure energy supply, including Avtur, to support the community’s mobility through air transportation that connects regions in Indonesia. This support includes both general air transportation and Hajj flights.

"We monitor consumption trends through PIEDCC from upstream to downstream, including DPPU," said Fadjar.
