Pertamina Ensures Fuel and LPG Supply in Kalimantan Ahead of the 2024 Election

Balikpapan, February 12, 2024 - As the General Election approaches, slated for February 14, 2024, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan has formed a Task Force Team (SATGAS) for Controlling and Monitoring the Smooth Flow of Fuel (BBM) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) during the 2024 General Election period. This task force has been active since February 5, 2024, and will operate until February 18, 2024. The purpose of establishing the Election Task Force is to monitor fuel and LPG distribution and ensure the availability of fuel stocks for Kalimantan. It was revealed in a press statement by the Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Arya Yusa Dwicandra, on Monday (2/12).

"Pertamina Patra Niaga in the Kalimantan Region notes that during the period from January 1 to February 10, 2024, the average consumption of fuel in the Kalimantan region for Gasoline products (Pertalite and Pertamax Series) is around 7,867 KL/day, for Gasoil products (Solar and Dex Series) around 3,134 KL/day, and the average consumption for LPG is around 1,564 MT/day. Meanwhile, the cumulative day's resilience stock as of February 11, 2024, for Gasoil-type fuel is around ten days, Gasoline around 13 days, and LPG around six days. This indicates that the stock conditions are sufficient and safe," said Arya.

Additionally, Arya added that the public do not need to worry about the availability of fuel and LPG because Patra Niaga will always ensure the smooth and safe distribution of fuel and LPG. "Pertamina Patra Niaga has coordinated with various parties such as the police, Dishub, BPH Migas, and local governments in securing conditions during the 2024 Election," he said.

Although the stock is safe, Pertamina Patra Niaga still urges the public to use energy wisely, meaning economically capable individuals should not use subsidized fuel or LPG. "We continue to communicate this so that the subsidy program for both fuel and LPG can be effectively targeted, allowing eligible individuals to access the subsidy," Arya added.
