March 29, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to put forth its effort in handling tank T-301 incident in Balongan Refinery area, Indramayu Regency, West Java, continues to run and ensures that the national supply of fuel oil (BBM) is sufficient.
Fuel and Avtur supply resilience are very adequate in the range of 20 to 74 days. Based on current data, the national supply of gasoline (gasoline) is 10.5 million barrels, Gasoil (Solar) 8.8 million barrels, and Avtur 3.2 million barrels.
President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, explained that Pertamina would ensure that the supply of fuel remains sufficient because the supply pattern that has been implemented has anticipated an emergency scenario.
"We will optimize products from other refineries. Therefore, there are no obstacles in fuel supply as the main processing plant was not affected. Fire only broke out in the tank area. The refinery will be operational again immediately when the fire has been put out," said Nicke in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, March 29, 2021.
On the same occasion, Pertamina's Director of Logistics and Infrastructure, Mulyono, explained that currently, the Balongan Refinery supplies fuel to the Balongan, Cikampek, and Plumpang fuel terminals. According to him, the condition of the Balongan refinery has no problem. It is a normal shutdown. Replacement supplies will be run from the Cilacap and TPPI refineries.
"People do not need to panic, because there is abundant stock. Fuel consumption is still not too normal, which is why the stock is still high," he said.
Regarding the handling of the incident at Tank T-301, Pertamina remains focused on handling offensive fire and coordinating with all parties, involving the local government, the police, and other parties.
"On behalf of Pertamina, I would like to express my concern over the incident and apologize to the public. Please pray that Pertamina and all stakeholders can handle this incident," said Nicke.**
