Surabaya, February 25, 2023 - PT Pertamina EP Poleng Field, part of the East Indonesia Regional Subholding Upstream Pertamina, has succeeded in increasing oil and gas production through workover activities for BW-04 and BW-06 wells. In November 10 - December 4, 2022, for BW-04 well, and from December 8, 2022, to January 20, 2023, for BW-06 well. The BW platform is located in Poleng, off the north coast of Madura Island.
The workover activities of the two wells increased oil and gas production for Poleng by 189 BOPD and 11.23 MMSCFD. From BW-04 well, the Poleng Field produced 156 BOPD of oil and 4.27 MMSCFD of gas, and the BW-06 well produced 33 BOPD of oil and 6.96 MMSCFD of gas, where the production results exceeded the target set at 50 BOPD and 1.3 MMSCFD.
This success also received full appreciation from the company's management. On a separate occasion, the General Manager of Zone 11, Muhamad Arifin, expressed his appreciation for the workover performance of the BW-04 and BW-06 wells. "This well has increased oil and gas production in zone 11 as part of our commitment to support the company's performance targets. We appreciate the hard work of our friends in making this happen while prioritizing occupational health and safety," said Muhaman Arifin.
Poleng Field Manager, M Luthfi Ferdiansyah, said that with the BW-04 and BW-06 wells' successful workover, the Poleng Field's oil and gas production has increased significantly and proved that the Poleng Field has a lot of potential in developing production. "In the future, the Poleng Field will continue several RKs in AW-02; CW-09, and CW-12 to pursue the production target set for 2023," he added.
The Engineering & Planning Assistant Manager of PEP Poleng, Muhartriyas Wibisono, also prompt to always look for opportunities to increase oil and gas production. "Even though the number of wells is small, never give up on continuing to look for opportunities to increase production, whether oil or gas production and the Poleng Field will focus on implementing HSSE and are optimistic that it will achieve the production target," explained Muhartriyas.**
