December 31, 2021 - PT Pertamina EP Subang Field (PEP Subang Field) which is part of Zone 7 Regional Java Upstream Subholding has a significant natural gas potential. Currently, PEP Subang Field has not only succeeded in reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions but has also developed innovative utilization of CO2 gas for commerciality. "By distributing CO2 as industrial raw material, Pertamina EP is able to generate a multiplier effect by reviving business sectors such as the food, automotive, chemical, and paper industries," said Andri Haribowo as General Manager of Zone 7.
In addition to CO2 utilization, PEP Subang Field also supplies gas for households up to 4,000 connections in the Subang Regency area. Indirectly, PEP Subang is able to provide an added value so that people can enjoy 40% more efficient fuel than LPG.
Empowerment of the community around the operational area is inseparable from the attention of PEP Subang Field. One of which is the Environmental Education for Children (PELITA) program. Collaborating with the Karawang Regency Education Office and an international organization that focuses on the development of Early Childhood Education (PAUD), namely SEAMEO CECCEP, PEP Subang has developed a curriculum and application for environmental-based learning and waste management. This thematic curriculum has even been replicated in 1,593 PAUD schools throughout Karawang Regency.
