Jakarta, April 17, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero), through the Partnership Program, fosters many micro and small enterprises (MSEs) with the concept of home industry. The household business is in great demand because it is considered more practical and does not require significant capital when starting. Pertamina will accompany these home industry MSEs to become an upgraded and independent MSEs.
One of the home industries in the culinary sector owned by Pertamina's Fostered Partner is the Dins Kuliner. Joeliana Moerniati's business based in Bumi Teluk Jambe Blok D 164, Sukaluyu, Kec. Teluk Jambe Timur, Karawang Regency, is recognized as having undergone many changes. "After receiving assistance from Pertamina, my business has improved in terms of quality, packaging and marketing," she said.
Dins Kuliner produced various cakes, snack boxes, and rice boxes. During the month of Ramadan, the orders received by Juliana can increase by 2 to 3 times compared to the average month. "There are many orders for takjil and iftar events held by mosques or other agencies," she added.
Juliana hopes that her business can have many orders at all times. She also tries to improve the quality of her culinary products by completing several certificates and business licenses such as Home Industrial Products (P-IRT), Halal, Micro and Small Enterprise (IUMK) licenses, and Business Identification Numbers (NIB).
Since being under Pertamina's assistance and having several licenses, its production capacity can increase and be stable. Previously, Juliana was able to produce a variety of culinary dishes up to 2300 boxes/month. Currently, the production rises 52 per cent to 3000 - 3500 boxes per month. The turnover obtained is quite significant, which is up to IDR 31 million per month. The Dins Kuliner has now become an upgraded MSE.
Even though her product has a short shelf life, she strives to expand her market area. Aside from the Karawang Regency, its products have now reached out to several consumers in the Purwakarta Regency, particularly in the Jabodetabek region. "Hopefully, by becoming Pertamina's Fostered Partners, the marketing of my products can expand even more," she concluded.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto added, Pertamina will support home industry-based businesses to grow until they become upgraded MSEs. "Let's support them by buying its products and promoting authentic Indonesian products," he said.
According to Agus, through the Partnership Program, Pertamina wants to provide the energy that drives the economy--energy that becomes fuel and energy that generates sustainable growth. It is also implementing SDGs, the 8th goal, which is to provide decent work and support economic growth.
Apart from SDGs, Pertamina also tries to implement Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) in the social sector. In this way, Pertamina is confident to consistently generate economic benefits in the community following environmental and social responsibilities.**
