Jakarta, May 17, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero) is committed to supporting the Proud Indonesian Made Movement (GBBI: Gerakan Bangga Buatan Indonesia) initiated by the Indonesian Government. This commitment is manifested in intensive coaching for the micro and small enterprises (MSEs) that they foster. This support is also intended for thousands of MSEs assisted from various sectors throughout Indonesia.
Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that currently Pertamina has thousands of partners from the Partnership and Rumah BUMN (RB) Program spread across 30 points throughout the country. With this enormous potential, it is hoped that this support for GBBI can be maximized.
"Pertamina fully supports the Proud of Indonesian Made Movement. Through this movement, we can help small business players rise from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, making domestic products more successful," she said.
Proud of Indonesian Made Day (BBI) is officially declared by the Government to fall every May 5. Even so, Pertamina asked that the implementation of GBBI be applied every day. By buying products made by Indonesian MSEs from all sectors.
In 2020, Pertamina fostered more than 3000 MSEs from various sectors. Among them, the industrial sector is 497 partners. The trade sector is 1,561 partners. The fishery sector is 87 partners, and the plantation sector is 46 partners. There are 133 partners in the agricultural sector, the livestock sector is 466 partners, the service sector is 273 partners, and the other sectors are ten partners.
"The products of Indonesian MSEs are as good as foreign products. Many MSEs have received certification and business permits. Pertamina, through the Partnership Program, has helped many MSEs achieve this. It is proven by the existence of 621 partnes that had receive certification and business permits in 2020," explained Fajriyah.
Apart from certification and license, there are several results from Pertamina's assistance that also impact GBBI support. For example, there are 795 upgraded MSEs, 254 MSEs experienced an increase in turnover, and 61 partners became Go Global MSEs through the UMK Academy program.
She added that all MSEs products under Pertamina's assistance could be found on various channels, both on social media and in the marketplace. Some of them have been included in the UMKM Gen social media on Instagram @gen_umkm. "Through social media, consumers can go to the foster partner contacts," she said.
According to Fajriyah, through the Partnership Program, Pertamina wants to present the energy that drives the economy--energy that becomes fuel and energy that generates sustainable growth.
