Sanur, June 24, 2022 – Pertamina Gas Subholding, through its affiliate PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) is expanding natural gas energy use for the hotel industry in Bali. On Wednesday (22/06), Pertagas Niaga distributed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to Prime Plaza Hotel Sanur Bali.
Prime Plaza Hotel is the second hotel in Bali after The Trans Hotel Bali in Badung started using CNG in April 2022. CNG use in hotel utilizes natural gas as environmentally friendly transition energy and supports cost efficiency for industry players.
“We are pleased that the hotel industry's response to natural gas energy has been excellent. Pertagas Niaga is proud to have a role in making Bali a tourism industry that is not only beautiful, but also concerned about the environment," explained President Director of PT Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin, in his written press statement.
Amin is confident that other Bali hotels, restaurants, and cafes will soon take this approach as consumers have demonstrated its advantages. Pertagas Niaga will continue to play a role in expanding natural gas energy use, which supports environmentally friendly tourism concept in Bali.
"We hope that the collaboration with PTGN will provide more value for our hotel in supporting green tourism in Bali," said General Manager of Prima Plaza Hotel Sanur, Sandy Rachmat.
CNG supplies for the Bali hotel industry are distributed from East Java through synergy with PT Pertamina Patra Logistik. At Mengwi Terminal, Badung, CNG was moved to a more flexible and dynamic cradle mode.
Bali currently distributes 5,000 m3/month of CNG, and it is anticipated that this number will rise when conditions improve following the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides Bali, PTGN also supplies CNG for industrial needs in South Sumatra, East Kalimantan, and Java, with a total distribution of 500,000 MMBTU/month. CNG is chosen to meet gas energy needs in areas that have not been connected to a gas pipeline network.**
