Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia Ready to be Held, the Community is Enthusiastic

March 19, 2022 – The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia MotoGP race in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is ready to be held. The racers are ready to compete in the biggest motorcycle racing event in the world.

Pertamina has made various preparations ahead of the competition, which will start on March 19-20,2022, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). One of them is presenting several official merchandise outlets to excite the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event.

On Friday (18/3) at around 11.00 WITA, ahead of this weekend's MotoGP event, it was observed that the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia merchandise at Lombok International Airport seemed to be sold out. Enthusiastic buyers were dominated by airplane passengers who had just landed in Lombok. The purchased merchandise was T-shirts with a picture of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.

"Pertamina is trying its best to provide an atmosphere of joy and excitement in the MotoGP event, which is held again in Indonesia after 25 years," said the VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina Fajriyah Usman.

Pertamina also opened outlets around the circuit area that sells official Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia merchandise and offers information related to Pertamina products such as Pertamax Turbo, Enduro lubricants, and the MyPertamina application. There is also a Bright Store outlet that provides a variety of daily necessities and also knick-knacks for the 2022 MotoGP event.

One of the preparations made by PT Pertamina (Persero) as the main sponsor of this event is to present a mural on the north and south tunnels of the circuit. It is a collaboration between Pertamina and 50 artists from NTB and other cities in Indonesia, carried out for 14 days before the MotoGP event. These artists are members of the largest graffiti community in Asia, namely Gardu House, Darbotz, and Stereoflow.

"We want to build a lively atmosphere on the circuit. This is also a form of support and collaboration with artists from NTB and other cities in Indonesia at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia," said the VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina Fajriyah Usman.

Meanwhile, today all racers from the Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP classes have done free practice at the Mandalika Circuit. A loaded atmosphere has begun to appear. Many residents have exchanged tickets to watch the race on Saturday and Sunday.

Pertamina itself is the main sponsor of the 2022 MotoGP event. It is an effort to support President Joko Widodo's instruction on 5 Super Priority Tourism Destinations development. "Pertamina synergizes with the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a fellow SOE to support the development of the Mandalika International Circuit," said Fajriyah.

Not only involved in organizing the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event and cooperation in naming the circuit the 'Pertamina International Street Circuit,' but Pertamina previously had also distributed revolving capital assistance to MSMEs in the Mandalika area.
