Jakarta, September 4, 2020 – PT Pertamina (Persero) is consistently maintaining the availability of fuels throughout the country amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the relaxation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and entering the era of Normal Life Adaptation (Adaptasi Kehidupan Normal (AKB)), fuel consumption in the retail sector has continued to increase, reaching 122 thousand kiloliters per day or 7% below the average consumption before the pandemic.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, explained that Pertamina guarantees stock is enough and is fully committed to ensuring the distribution of all types of fuel to runs smoothly, including Premium and Pertalite types. According to her, currently, the national fuel stock security is in the range of 26 days.
"All products are available in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of people in all regions of Indonesia, so people do not have to worry and keep buying fuel according to daily consumption," she said.
Fajriyah added that since the PSBB relaxation in early June, fuel consumption has continued to increase. During the PSBB period, the national fuel consumption fell by about 25%, the decline in some areas reached 50%. However, now consumption continues to rise up closer to normal distribution conditions.
Fajriyah emphasized that Pertamina remains committed to carrying out the assignment from the Government to distribute Premium based on Presidential Regulation No. 43 Tahun 2018 when asked about the plan to remove Premium fuel.
"Based on an assignment from the government, currently, Pertamina is still distributing and providing Premium in Indonesia and reaching 3T areas with the One Price BBM program," concluded Fajriyah.**
