Pertamina Handled Oil Seep in Penajam

Penajam – Pertamina sent out team to check and recover the oil seep in Penajam, Balikpapan.

Region Manager Communication and CSR Kalimantan Yudy Nugraha explained, the recovery of oil seep in Penajam was dones by coordinating with local government and communities. “We are very grateful to the local government and the community and related institutions that support this recovery process,” he explained.“

Despite of rain and rise tide on the last few days, our team continues the recovering process on location, for when its raining or the tide rising, water level will go up, makes the recovery process more tricky. Even more, the location condition makes its difficult to sent heavy equipment,” he said.

Acoording to Yudy, Pertamina’s team is focusing on recovery of the oil seep. The inspection result on field shows that oil seep occurs in idle pipeline.

“We are fosucing on handling the oil seep so its not spread out. To prevent oil from flowing to the sea on high tide, we will install oil boom. Pertamina will also fix the idle pipeline as soon as possible,” Yudy said.
