Pertamina Has Distributed Biodiesel to 5.518 Petrol Stations in Indonesia

Jakarta, June 10, 2021 - The demand for B30 biodiesel fuel has been evenly spread in 2021. Currently, 5,518 petrol stations in Indonesia have distributed B30 biodiesel.

Director of Business Planning & Development of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (Subholding Commercial & Trading Pertamina), Mars Ega Legowo Putra, said Pertamina continues to improve the reliability of B30 supply. It is through reconfiguring the biodiesel supply pattern at 30 supply points and utilizing all TBBM (fuel terminal) in 114 locations to mix and distribute B30 fuel throughout Indonesia.

Based on Pertamina's data, the realization of absorption in 2020 reached 89%, namely 7.14 million KL of the allocation of 8.02 million KL. In 2021, according to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree 252/2020, Pertamina will be given a 7.81 million KL allocation to absorb biodiesel/FAME, with FAME absorption reaching 2.96 million KL until May 2021.

"In line with the mandatory biodiesel implementation policy in all sectors, Pertamina has distributed subsidized biodiesel of 13.3 million KL in 2020, while in 2021 from January to May, Pertamina has distributed 5.3 million KL," explained Mars Ega.

Responding to the domestic and export markets needs, Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Fajriyah Usman, said that Pertamina would strengthen production facilities. It is through the development of biorefinery and downstream sector infrastructure development.

"To reach a wider area, Pertamina is currently completing the construction of fuel infrastructure with a focus on the construction of a FuelTerminal in Eastern Indonesia," said Fajriyah.

Through its Subholding Refinery and Petrochemical, Pertamina has a roadmap to develop HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) Green Fuel or D100 in the form of modification to improve biodiesel production, according to Fajriyah. Pertamina is also developing the Grass-Root unit to produce Green Diesel D100 located at the Dumai refinery, Cilacap, and Plaju.

"As one of Pertamina's efforts for national energy sovereignty, fuel developments continue to be carried out, including by continuing to develop green gasoline and green diesel production in Cilacap. Pertamina will continue to utilize all domestic natural resources to support national energy independence and sovereignty," concluded Fajriyah.**
