Pertamina Holds the 76th Independence Day Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia Centered in the Rokan Block
August 17, 2021 - The 76th Independence of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) is commemorated by all Pertamina employees, including the workers of PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR). For the first time, workers in the Rokan Working Area (WK), who were previously employees of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI), also celebrated the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia as part of Pertamina.
The commemoration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia was carried out by holding a ceremony at Rumbai Country Club (RCC) Field, Pekanbaru, Tuesday (17/8/2021). This ceremony became the main activity to commemorate the Indonesian Independence Day by Pertamina and broadcasted to all Pertamina work locations both at home and abroad online.
President Director of PT PHR Jaffee Arizon Suardin acted as the Ceremony Supervisor in the activity. Jaffee was seen wearing traditional Riau Malay traditional clothes complete with Tanjak as a head covering.
This ceremony was attended by management and PHR workers who appeared to be wearing traditional Indonesian clothing and Pertamina's typical work clothes. The ceremony took place solemnly and smoothly.
This activity was attended by President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, Pertamina President Commissioner Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (BTP), and other Pertamina directors and commissioners online.
After the ceremony, President Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati conveyed a message of independence to Pertamina workers virtually. Nicke said that the transfer of management of the Rokan WK by Pertamina was a special gift on the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia this time.
"This is a historic moment, a moment of pride for all of us where WK Rokan is again managed by Indonesia through Pertamina, of course for the interests and virtues of the beloved nation Indonesia," Nicke said.
Nicke continued, Indonesian President Joko Widodo conveyed directly to representatives of PHR workers to maintain the mandate and maintain the performance and production of WK Rokan for Indonesia. "Let's carry out the mandate as well as possible," said Nicke.
With the theme of this year's Independence Day, 'Indonesia Tangguh, Indonesia Tumbuh,' Nicke invites Pertamina employees to be passionate about independence through their best works and contributions in their daily lives and work at Pertamina.
Meanwhile, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama expressed his appreciation for PT CPI workers in WK Rokan who join PT PHR. "Of course, we are very grateful, and congratulations to the workers from PHR who have just joined. Congratulations to WK Rokan, which we have started to manage," said Basuki.
Basuki added that Pertamina would continue to develop quality and professional human resources. He believes that the human resources managed by Pertamina can bring WK Rokan towards better production.
"We believe this WK Rokan is one of the most potentials in Indonesia. We see the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, and of course, we are developing quality human resources, and we have done it well," said Basuki.
The ceremonial activities at WK Rokan are also carried out at several operational points. Among them were in the Kotabatak, Petapahan, and Libo Fields, where the participants attended the ceremony wearing Pertamina uniforms.**
