August 23, 2021 – PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) continues drilling oil resources from the Rokan Block, Riau, to meet the target of 161 new wells from August to December 2021. To achieve this target, PHR has succeeded in drilling with faster time efficiency.
PHR's President Director, Jaffee Arizon Suardin, said that the PHR drilling team succeeded in making time efficiency of Rig BN-18 drilling at Bangko Field, Rokan Hilir. From the target time set for 20 days, the team succeeded in achieving drilling within 9 days.
"In the process, several wells were initially estimated to take 20 days, and now it has been completed within 9 days. In addition, there is also drilling from 7 days to 5 days, namely in the Duri field. So, we continue to streamline the drilling duration," said Jaffee on Monday (23/8/2021).
Jaffee said this triumph was achieved through several improvisations in the field. Among them, the drilling team carried out several activities (offline activity) in parallel and improved rig reliability.
"In addition, the team also applied defensive drilling by setting drilling parameters in areas that have the potential to lose circulation. The team also carried out careful planning to avoid waiting period of service or material," said Jaffee.
Jaffee added, since the acquisition of the Rokan Block by PHR on August 9, 2021, until now, PHR has successfully drilled 10 wells. In fact, as of Monday (23/8), it was recorded that there were two drilling rigs in moving plus 1 rig that was preparing to drill at the Rokan working area. Of the number of wells, there are 8 wells with production levels that also exceed the target.
"The total production of 8 out of 10 wells that have been drilled is 3,196 BOPD exceed from the planned 2,000 BOPD," said Jaffee.
Looking at this progress, Jaffee believes that the target of 161 drilling wells can be met. "We are very optimistic because even before the acquisition, we have prepared the rig, the materials, and crew needed so that this drilling can be achieved," added Jaffee.
