Jakarta, July 18, 2024 – PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) officially opened the International Fire Fighters Summit (IFFS) 2024 as the culmination of the International Firefighters Day celebrations. Held on July 17-18 in the Grha Pertamina Ballroom, IFFS 2024 featured seminars, talk shows, and HSSE exhibitions and a moment of recognition from the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI).
KPI received a MURI award for the largest fire-fighting simulation, involving 1,569 personnel across Indonesia on July 10. Hundreds of attendees from government, HSSE communities, academia, and the media enthusiastically filled the grand event.
President Director of KPI, Taufik Aditiyawarman, who inaugurated the IFFS 2024 ceremony, mentioned that stakeholder synergy is the foundation of KPI's "emergency preparedness" competency enhancement program.
"HSSE programs target not only Pertamina's personnel and fire brigade teams but also relevant stakeholders, including partners, families, and surrounding communities," Taufik said.
Taufik also explained that fire safety literacy programs are designed innovatively to target holistic stakeholders, such as the Fire Rescue Combat Challenge, Fun Fire Combat, and the MURI Record-breaking involving household firefighters. "We continue to strengthen stakeholder synergy in HSSE aspects," Taufik emphasized.
On this occasion, KPI also launched innovative HSSE programs: the "Fire Academy" and the "Road to Fit Fireman Program." Programs within the Fire Academy are designed to enhance the technical competencies of firefighters in KPI's operational environment.
The IFFS 2024 event was enlivened by the "Fire Expo" as an educational platform featuring the latest fire-fighting equipment and systems technologies. This exhibition aimed to campaign and educate all KPI personnel and the surrounding community about the crucial role and function of fire prevention and response, raising awareness of all aspects of fire prevention.
Corporate Secretary of KPI, Hermansyah Y Nasroen, stated that IFFS 2024, organized by KPI, is a celebration and a continuation of KPI's long-standing HSSE commitment.
"KPI's HSSE commitment, particularly regarding fire fighting, has been carried out continuously and comprehensively across all operational units, packaged within Fire Fighters Month. The activities include K3 education, such as the Refinery Fire Rescue Combat Challenge, video competitions, and MURI achievements. Today's event is the pinnacle," explained Hermansyah.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said that Pertamina continues to innovate to enhance the competency of Pertamina Officers in implementing HSSE according to company standards.
