Jakarta, August 28, 2021 – The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has forced many parties to help each other. The micro and small enterprises (MSE) fostered by Pertamina are no exception, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina cooperates with several fostered partners to provide aid to health workers (nakes) in the frontline.
Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman explained that Pertamina has collected a number of products from Pertamina’s fostered partners, especially products related to health and herbs.
“This aid contains a number of herbal products such as virgin coconut oil (VCO), cardamom, honey, palm sugar, red ginger, and rice. It is hoped that these products can increase the immunity of health workers so they can help Indonesia to be strong and rise up against the Covid-19 pandemic,” she said.
Fajriyah added that some of the packages were packaged and distributed directly through Pertamina Peduli Program to a number of health workers in hospitals and clinics that are incorporated with Pertamina Bina Medika (Pertamedika) Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC). “There are around 150 packages distributed to those health workers,” she said.
In addition to health workers, Pertamina also distributed similar packages to general public as a form of concern during this pandemic. Therefore, the total packages of Pertamina’s fostered partners herb products that were distributed reached around 372 packages. With a product value of approximately IDR 240 million.
Fajriyah also explained that the products were imported from various regions in Indonesia. For instance, VCO products by Bali Pure is from Buleleng Bali and Farida Intan from Yogyakarta. Mellifera Honey by Madu Center Indramayu, Yu Sugar palm sugar from Tasikmalaya, as well as pure red ginger by CV N&N International, cardamom Rumah Rempah Noni, organic rice from Prabu Batik and PT Kaltim Utama Mandiri Sukses are from Jakarta and Bekasi respectively.
Aside from being an effort to support health workers, the involvement of MSEs in this program is also to help MSEs. That is by absorbing MSEs products so that they are also adaptive in the pandemic. “Also as a medium to introduce Indonesian original products by Pertamina’s fostered partners with great benefits,” she said.
According to Fajriyah, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy, energy that fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.
