Jakarta, August 5, 2020 – Pertamina is ready to follow up on the Government's assignment to distribute 35.000 converter kits (Konkit) package to fishers and farmers. For the specifics, 25.000 packages of Konkit are distributed to fishers across 42 districts, and cities and 10.000 packages are distributed to farmers across 24 districts and cities.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, stated that Pertamina received the assignment to convert BBM to BBG as per the Letter of Agreement for the Implementation of BBM to BBG Conversion for Target Fishers and Farmers for the 2020 Budget. The Letter of Agreement was signed in Jakarta, Tuesday (4/8) by the Acting Director-General of Oil and Gas, Ego Syahrial, along with Secretary of the Director-General of Oil and Gas, Iwan Prasetya Adhi, and Director of Planning and Development of Oil and Gas Infrastructure, Alimuddin Baso. Meanwhile, SVP Shipping PT Pertamina (Persero), Joko Eko, and Marketing Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga as Commerical and Trading Business Group of Pertamina, Jumali, was present as the representative of PT Pertamina. The Letter of Agreement was signed by the BBM to BBG Conversion Commitment Official for Fishers, Irene Yulianingsih Sasaran, Vice President of LPG Sales of PT Pertamina (Persero), Primarini, and BBM to BBG Conversion Commitment Officials for Target Farmers, Safriyanto.
"After the signing of the agreement, Pertamina will move fast to immediately carry out the procurement process, which is targeted to be completed by the end of September 2020. Therefore, in the second week of October 2020, it can begin to be distributed," said Fajriyah.
Fajriyah added that Pertamina would also set up bases in the area of targeted farmers and fishers to support the availability of LPG refills.
According to Fajriyah, Pertamina has distributed the Konkit package since 2016. In which until 2019, they have distributed as many as 60.859 packages of Konkit. Meanwhile, for the farmers, Pertamina has distributed as many as 1.000 packages of Konkit since 2019.
In 2020, Fajriyah added, Pertamina will distribute Konkit package for targeted fishers across 17 provinces, which includes 42 districts/cities. Those 17 provinces include Special Region of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and Central Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, 10.000 of Konkit packages for targeted farmers will be distributed across 6 provinces, which includes 24 districts/cities.
"Pertamina will carry out this assignment according to the target while still implementing the health protocol. The Konkit packages will help to reduce operational costs of fishing vessels for fishers and water pumping machines for farmers. As they are more efficient, efficient, and more environmentally friendly the engine maintenance has also become easier," concluded Fajriyah.**
