Jakarta, October 3, 2020 – PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to ensure that strategic programs and projects run smoothly with law enforcement institutions' support, including the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
This effort was marked by the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati's visit to the KPK Jakarta Office. Her visit was accompanied by the Director of Business Support, M. Haryo Yunianto, CEO of Commercial & Trading Subholding, Mas'ud Khamid, and CEO of Upstream Subholding, Budiman Parhusip. The visit was received directly by Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Firli Bahuri, and KPK officials, including KPK Deputy Chairman, Lili Pintauli Siregar, and Deputy for Prevention, Pahala Nainggolan.
"We have described all the strategic issues that Pertamina is facing, strategic programs and solutions, as well as the support we need from the KPK. Therefore, all the strategic programs can be carried out properly and following the targets set by the Government," said Nicke Widyawati during the Press Conference at the KPK Building, Jl. HR Rasuna Said, Jakarta, Friday, October 2, 2020, yesterday.
Nicke continued, several things had been conveyed to the KPK regarding the assignment and responsibility of Pertamina as SOE and a National oil and gas company responsible for supplying energy in Indonesia.
"We convey strategic issues in the upstream oil and gas sector and the strategic and sustainable efforts made by Pertamina to increase oil and gas reserves or production," she added.
Another thing conveyed on this occasion was Pertamina's refinery project, which is currently in development to increase refinery capacity. Therefore, domestic needs can be met.
Nicke also conveyed Pertamina's efforts to prepare new and renewable energy to replace fossil fuels, including running the Biodiesel program, namely B30 to B100.
"This is very strategic because Indonesia has abundant sources of palm oil. Therefore, we must use it and become one source of energy for Indonesia. Thus, we can increase the energy supply security from biodiesel sustainably and economically," she said. Likewise, with support for Domestic Market Obligation policies related to coal volume and prices, in the context of developing DME to reduce LPG imports.
On this occasion, Nicke also mentioned Pertamina's efforts to increase the distribution of fuels to reach 77 thousand villages throughout Indonesia.
"Therefore, we have to build more outlets in all villages in Indonesia so that people can enjoy energy with easy access and have the same rights to get affordable energy," she said.
Regarding the synergy with the KPK, Nicke explained that communication and coordination with the KPK have been going very well. Especially with the Deputy for Prevention, saving state assets managed by Pertamina in all regions and further optimized for the t interests of the community, nation, and state.
Previously, with the support of the KPK, Pertamina managed to save potential state losses on assets worth IDR 9.5 trillion located in South Sumatra and West Kalimantan. Said Nicke, these assets will be optimized and empowered to increase regional income and absorb labor in the area.
"What we explained earlier received a good response from the KPK officials. We hope that the next step, we will find an agreement that can be cooperated between Pertamina and the KPK," she said.
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Lili Pintauli Siregar, welcomed the cooperation plan because Pertamina as SOE and the KPK have a duty to prevent corruption.
"This cooperation will later be discussed in more detail under the auspices of the Deputy for Prevention because our target is to ensure that this SOE also works well and that the KPK's duties can also run," she concluded.**
