Jakarta - PT Pertamina Lubricants, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) which manages the domestic and international lubricants business, once again demonstrates the company's commitment to become a world-class lubricant company by penetrating Middle East market. Represented by Manager of Grease and Specialty Products, Eko Budiarso and Sales Area Manager of V Retail Surabaya, Wahyudi Kurniawan accompanied by Trade Attaché Embassy of Cairo, Burman Rahman agreed on the contract of lubricant sale with Egyptian company, Ashrafco, on Friday (28/09/2017) , in Cairo. Eko Budiarso stated, Pertamina lubricant sales as a trial order for one 20-feet container with a value of USD 56.695 or worth Rp. 737 million.
Ashrafco President Director Dr Khaleed Hammad added that the contract is a good start for Ashrafco's relationship with PT Pertamina Lubricants. Khaleed believes that Pertamina lubricant is of high quality production and can compete with similar products in the Egyptian market.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Egypt, Helmy Fauzy explained, PT Pertamina Lubricants has been persistently exploring the opportunities to develop nation's lubricant market in Egypt. Earlier in June 2017, a delegation of PT Pertamina Lubricants led by Sales & Marketing Director of PT Pertamina Lubricants Andria Nusa had initiated the exploration of Pertamina's lubricant market by conducting several business meetings with six Egyptian companies, which had imported Indonesian automotive products such as Indonesian car tires and velgs, as well as with the other potential Egyptian partners.
Trade Attaché, Burman Rahman added, "Now Pertamina Lubricants and Ashrafco have embarked on this lubricant business deal, Ashrafco has good reputation besides as the winner of Primaduta Award 2016 for its loyalty in buying products from Indonesia and also as sole agent for PT Prima Alloy velg since Year 1999, the sole agent of PT Bangun Sarana Alloy since 2004, and the sole agent of PT Elang Perdana vehicle tires since 2005. "
Responding to the positive response from this transaction contract agreement, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Egypt, Helmy Fauzy admitted that he really appreciates the business deal. "I hope this one container deal, which will be delivered in October 2017, can be a sustainable partnership and continued with even greater orders in the future," he said.
With a population of 93.62 million people (Capmas September 2017), Egypt is a potential market for lubricants. Up to now there are more than 10 local and international lubricants that dominate the Egyptian market. However, PT Pertamina Lubricants expressed confidence that Pertamina's lubricant products can compete with other products in the Egyptian market.
