Jakarta, May 20, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero) supports young Indonesian racers' skills development to enhance their performance on the global stage. This commitment is demonstrated through a collaboration with the Mandalika Racing Series (MRS) in the second round of the National Sportbike Racing Championship. The prestigious event that features Indonesian racers will take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
The Mandalika Racing Series (MRS) 2024 will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok, over five rounds organized by the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), and PRIDE Club, on May 25-26, 2024.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina has supported the automotive sports world in various racing events, both nationally and internationally, including the second round of the Mandalika Racing Series.
"We are very enthusiastic about this collaboration. Pertamina is always committed to supporting young Indonesian talent development. Through this collaboration with the Mandalika Racing Series, we are confident that we can produce racers who can compete on a global level," he explained.
According to Fadjar, this collaborative initiative aims to develop young Indonesian talents with great potential in motorcycle racing. Moreover, this partnership is a concrete step in Pertamina's efforts to advance the motorsport industry in Indonesia.
"Pertamina's support will strengthen the talent development program and provide broader access and better facilities for young racers," Fadjar added.
In line with this statement, the Director of Operations of InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Troy Warokka, said that the Mandalika Racing Series is not just a motorcycle racing competition but also a tangible manifestation of a joint commitment to elevate Indonesia's name on the international stage. "The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit will produce champions, a place where young Indonesian talents get the opportunity to shine and showcase their abilities to the world. This event is concrete proof that with full support from the entire community and stakeholders, we can build a brilliant future for Indonesian motorsports. Let us together foster a spirit of nationalism and elevate our national racers' achievements to the international stage," said Troy.
Priandhi Satria, President Director of PT MGPA Nusantara Jaya, also expressed that the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit will provide training facilities and racing opportunities at the Mandalika Circuit for national racers to excel further at regional and international levels.
"Several national racers who frequently train and compete at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit acknowledge that this circuit is important for them to enhance their skills and improve their lap times," said Priandhi.
On the same occasion, Deputy of Motorcycle Sports of IMI Central, Eddy Saputra, stated that the Indonesian Motor Association will continue to provide support. Therefore, the Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series National Sportbike Championship can continue sustainably.
"We continue to strive to produce more young Indonesian racers who excel from a competitive championship that adheres to regulations and upholds sportsmanship, ready to compete at higher levels," he concluded.
