Pertamina Maximizes Tank Extinguishments in Cilacap Refinery Area

Cilacap, November 13, 2021 – Currently, Pertamina is making a maximum effort to extinguish tank fires in Cilacap Refinery area, Central Java. The fire started at 19.20 WIB in one of the tank containing Pertalite products. Pertamina has not yet determined the cause of the incident. 

Extinguishing efforts are carried out intensively using a High Capacity Foam Monitor on the burning tank, while the surrounding tanks are cooled with water sprinklers to prevent the fire from spreading.

Pertamina is currently also checking the community around the incident area to ensure the community is in a safe condition. Evacuation will be carried out or people located in the area closest to the location, to move to a safer area. 

Currently, Pertamina is also ensuring that the supply of fuel and LPG to the community is safe and uninterrupted.**
