Pertamina National Youth Championship “Soeratin”, Youth Football Championship Towards The World Stage
Jakarta - PT Pertamina (Persero) once again held Pertamina National Youth Championship (NYC) Soeratin to support Indonesian Footbal Association progress. The final round of U-15 and U17 football league is confirmed to take place on October 14th, 2017, in Magelang and Yogyakarta.
As much as 30 team in U-15 and 32 team in U-17 category will compete to be the champion. The group draw for each category and Pertamina National Youth Championship Soeratin Logo have been conducted on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at Asana Kawanua Hotel, Cempaka Putih. Secretary General of PSSI, Ratu Tisha Destria and several other staff, and also Pertamina Board of Management are present in this event. Moreover, there are 34 representatives from provincial associations, U-15 and U-17 team managers from each province’s winning team.
Vice President Corporate Communication Pertamina Adiatma Sardjito said that Pertamina fully support the development of Indonesian football, with the commitment to support the birth of young talented players as the quality seeds for national player. Pertamina also support PSSI to bring national football to the world stage.
“Pertamina NYC Soeratin is a great vessel to coach young players. Through this championship we hope that young and talented players which are in the future become the national player will be born and bring glory to Indonesia in the world stage.” Said Adiatma.
Meanwhile, Ratu Tisha Delisha said that, NYC Soeratin is one of PSSI focus in the effort to develop football in the homeland. “We want to build a strong national team. In order to do that, young and talented players are needed. Youth coaching become the fundamental, and thus became the focus of PSSI.” Said Tisha.
In its history, NYC Soeratin which has been started since 1965 has produced players that fight for the national team. Several names from NYC Soeratin among others are Rony Paslah, Ricky Varobi, Charis Yulianto, Aji Santoso, and Imran Nahumahuri. The star of U-19 national team as of now, Egy Maulana Vikry is also from NYC Soeratin from 2016 season.
The final round of Pertamina NYC Soeratin will be held in three stadiums in Magelang area and five stadiums in DIY Yogyakarta. Three stadiums in the Magelang region, namely Sapta Marga, Gatot Subroto, and Gemilang Stadium. While five stadiums in Yogyakarta, namely Tridadi, Pancasila UGM, Dwi Windu, Sultan Agung, and Maguwoharjo stadium. The final party will be held in Maguwoharjo.
"We deliberately chose to hold Pertamina NYC Soeratin in Magelang and Yogyakarta because these two places are student cities and Yogyakarta also has a strong history for the Soeratin Cup," said Tisha Destria.
The final round will use the semi tournament format. Each category will be divided into eight groups. For U-15 category, because the number of participants is only 30, then there will be two groups that only filled three teams. While for the U-17 category, each group will be filled four teams.
The two best teams from each group will qualify for the final eighth round and enter the knockout phase. They will then compete to reach the top party which is planned to be held at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Central Java, Saturday (28/10).
