Pertamina Patra Niaga Continues to Regulate SPBE Operations

Jakarta, May 26, 2024 - Following an inspection by the Ministry of Trade through the Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order (PKTN) related to the supervision of Prepackaged Weight (BDKT), Pertamina Patra Niaga promptly regulated the operations of LPG Filling Stations (SPBE), including issuing warning letters to 12 SBBE where gas cylinders were below the required volume during the inspection.

"The issuance of warning letters aims to ensure that SPBE operators immediately address the findings from the inspection. If no changes are made, more severe sanctions will be imposed, potentially leading to the business license revocation if violations persist," emphasized Mars Ega Legowo, Regional Marketing Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga.

Similarly, the Director General of PKTN, Moga Simatupang, stated that the initial sanction is a written warning, which could lead to the business license revocation if not addressed. "The sanction is administrative. We first issue a written warning. If not addressed, the sanction can lead to the business license revocation," Moga explained in a written statement on Saturday (May 25).

Sanctions for these violations are regulated in Government Regulation Number 29 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of the Trade Sector, Article 166 paragraphs (1) and (2). Sanctions that can be imposed on business actors are administrative in stages up to the revocation of business permits.

The 12 SPBEs that received warning letters are in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Purwakarta, Padalarang, Ujung Berung, and Cimahi.

"Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to taking firm action against all distribution agencies and partners who violate regulations," Mars Ega emphasized.

Mars Ega further stated that Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to enhance synergy with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, not only in supervision but also in improving the system to ensure the proper distribution of 3 kg LPG from SPBE to the community.
