Pertamina Patra Niaga Opens Opportunities for Cooperation to Develop Non-Fuel Retail Business in Petrol Station Network

Jakarta, October 20, 2022 - Pertamina Patra Niaga, Subholding Commercial & Trading of PT Pertamina (Persero), continues to innovate in maintaining business sustainability. Utilizing petrol stations' network throughout Indonesia, Pertamina Patra Niaga is now also focusing on encouraging Non-Fuel Retail or NFR business development.

Director of Regional Marketing of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, said that in developing this NFR service or business, Pertamina Patra Niaga must continue to open up opportunities or collaborate to develop new businesses with partners.

“This NFR business is an effort to develop petrol stations into a one-stop service. This NFR business is also a potential business, both for Pertamina and business partners, as well as for the petrol station itself," stated Mars Ega.

Mars Ega said that there were already more than 90 national and international partners, as well as 1,400 local partners and MSMEs that worked together to develop the NFR business at Pertamina petrol stations. In total, there are nearly 19 thousand NFR outlets operating in the entire Pertamina petrol station network, which amounts to more than 6,000 throughout Indonesia. This number can still be developed further.

"The Pertamina and Pertashop petrol stations network can be an opportunity for partners or business actors to introduce their business in new areas because Pertamina petrol stations are from Sabang to Merauke," he conveyed.

Mars Ega then continued, as a commitment to developing the NFR business at the petrol station, Pertamina is preparing profitable cooperation schemes. It includes if a petrol station business license is owned, there will be opportunities to develop other businesses at the petrol station.

"This is Pertamina Patra Niaga's seriousness in developing the potential for one-stop service at petrol stations. As a commitment, Pertamina Patra Niaga will express this collaboration's spirit in a collaboration pact with business partners at the Pertamina Tenants Day event today. Because in the future, we will continue to expand and develop the NFR business," said Mars Ega.

Chairman of the DPP Hiswana Migas, Rachmad Muhammadiyah, who is familiarly called Yeni, also welcomed the NFR business development plan at petrol stations. According to him, the NFR market potential at petrol stations is outstanding because of petrol stations' strategic location.

“In developed countries, this NFR business can contribute 30%-40% of the revenue for the petrol station because what is sold in this NFR business is needed by people, such as minimarkets or cafes. Because of this, Hiswana Migas welcomes NFR development at petrol stations,” explained Yeni.

Director of PT Birotika Semesta (DHL Express), Rocky Joseph, who manages the logistics and expedition business, also explained the  NFR business' benefits at Pertamina petrol stations.

“First is access. The location is easy to reach, on the main road. Second is security because it tends to be crowded, it reduces the potential for theft or robbery. The third is the parking area because it is incorporated with a petrol station, not to mention if our consumers at the same time need to fill up fuel or buy food and drink at convenience stores," conveyed Rocky.

Pertamina Patra Niaga is opening as many opportunities as possible in developing the NFR business at petrol stations. Currently, those that have been running include minimarkets, cafes, autocare, and media advertising. There are also opportunities for collaboration for the electric vehicle ecosystem, such as Charging Stations or Battery Swapping Stations, as well as collaboration in the digital and application fields, namely through the MyPertamina loyalty program.
