Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi's Readiness Ahead of the 2024 Elections

Makassar, February 9, 2024 - On February 14, 2024, Indonesia will hold the Presidential and Vice-Presidential as well as legislative elections. This moment becomes Pertamina’s primary concern to maintain the facilities’ reliability as well as fuel and LPG stock availability so that the community can participate in the 2024 election at ease.

Approaching the election, which is just a few days away, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has formed a Controlling and Monitoring Smooth Fuel and LPG Distribution Task Force Team (SATGAS) during the 2024 elections, which has been active since February 5, 2024, until February 18, 2024. It is conducted to monitor the assurance of fuel and LPG stock availability distributed to the community.

Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, the Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga in the Sulawesi Region, stated that they continue to make extra efforts to prepare and anticipate the increase in community mobilization levels ahead of the elections. "The LPG stock resilience in Sulawesi today reaches 8,315 Metric Tons (MT), while the average daily consumption of the Sulawesi community is currently 1,758 MT per day. It indicates a sufficient condition. Similarly, with the current fuel stock, for example, Pertalite, based on Pertalite's fuel stock task force data, which amounts to 89,581 KL, with a daily average consumption of 7,377 KL," said Fahrougi.

Furthermore, Fahrougi urged the public regarding the 3 kg LPG purchase regulation, which, since January 1, 2024, has required the use of ID cards, stating it has no connection with the 2024 Elections. "The purpose of the ID card utilization regulation is to ensure that LPG is obtained by eligible individuals, where this program is called the on-target LPG subsidy, the socialization of which has been carried out since May 2023," he added.

Currently, 30,664 petrol stations have conducted 3 kg LPG purchases using ID cards through the Merchant Apps My Pertamina website, out of the target of 31,435 stations, accounting for 97.55%. It shows the public’s enthusiasm for the 3 kg LPG on-target subsidy program.

To ensure smooth fuel and LPG distribution during this election period, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi is collaborating with various parties such as the police, transportation agencies, BPH Migas, and local governments. "If the public discovers potential ID card misuse related to the 3 kg LPG purchase at petrol stations, do not hesitate to report it to the Call Center 135. Stations proven to have violated regulations may face sanctions ranging from warnings and administrative penalties such as allocation withdrawal to termination of business relationships," concluded Fahrougi.

For further information and inquiries about Pertamina's programs, the public can check the company's official social media accounts @ptpertaminapatraniaga or @pertaminasulawesi, @mypertamina, and can contact Pertamina's 24-hour customer service Call Center 135.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina is committed to supporting peaceful elections and ensuring energy availability throughout the democratic celebration.

"Pertamina is ready to fulfill energy needs during the 2024 elections. All energy infrastructures are on standby and fully operational," said Fadjar.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement.
